List of console commands you can use in game

Activate Console

First of all you have to activate the console. Therefore you have to find the "settings.txt" file depending on your operating system.

File location on WinXP:
C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Runic Games\Torchlight

File location on Win7/Vista:
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Runic Games\Torchlight
(but be aware, that you have to display hidden folders/files to be able to see the AppData folder)

Then open the settings.txt and look for the line containing "Console: 0". Just change this line to "Console: 1" and save the txt file.

Note: By using some of these commands you character will be marked as cheater!

Now start the game and as soon as you are in game, playing with your character, you can open the console on the bottom by pressing the following keys simultaneously:

• American English keyboard: Shift and ~
  
• British English keyboard: Shift and #
  
• Norwegian keyboard: Shift and Ø
  
• German keyboard: Shift and ö

Close the console again by clicking the red X in the upper right corner or you can press ESC.

Console Commands

AIFREEZE	toggles monster AI on or off
ASCEND	teleport to the start of the zone one floor above your location
CLS	clears text from console
DAMAGE SHAPES	toggles damage shapes on or off
DISABLEPET	disables/enables the player's pet
FPS	Shows a lot of informations reagarding your fps
GOD	activates "god mode"
GODSPEED	activates both GOD and SPEED commands
HELP	displays a list of commands
LEVELUP x	sets you level to x
MONEY x	gives you x money
PATHING	toggles pathing debug display
PLAYERNOTARGET	toggles monsters to not target the player
RELOAD	reloads textures (may crash game)
ROOM	displays the filename and path that corresponds to the room that the player is in
SPEED	activates additional speed for your character
STRENGTH x	gives you x amount strength
DEXTERITY #	gives you x amount dexterity
MAGIC x	gives you x amount magic
DEFENSE x	gives you x amount defense
ALLSTATS x	gives you x amount in to all stats
FAME x	gives x fame
SKILL	displays the list of skill numbers and names
SKILL NAME x	gives you a specified amount of skill points for the skill that you name
SKILLPOINTS x	gives you x skillpoints
IDENTIFYALL	identifies all items in the inventory (no items in the inventory of your pet)
ITEM	display the list of item numbers and names
ITEM x	places the specified item into your inventory
NOXP	disables experience gaining
KILLALL	kills all monsters
ALWAYSCRIT	all hits are critical
RESETSKILLS	resets your skills
SETDIFFICULTY x	sets the game difficulty to x

I have no idea how to use the console commands to at least get some decent gear for my summoner Alchemist. Every time I enter a name or a number, it gives me something completely different.

Just letting you all know, found out lol that it indeeds adds the (your name here) the Cheat to your character if you use these commands.

After i used RESETSKILLS i can´t use shared stash items. No chest anymore!

Commands not shown here: `_the Cheat` indicates that the command will likely mark your character as a cheater.
Descend (drops you down one floor) `_the Cheat`
Resetpoints resets your character and skill points to zero. Not known (to me) if this affects equipped skills.

There are others not shown here but I recall those two.
Setdifficulty x will only mark you as a cheater if Hardcore Mode is active.

Did everything and changed the settings but some reason wont open up console commands in game any reason? Using american keyboard and tried them all with no luck.
