Description
Presenting the Tabletop Simulator rendition of the
Elite: Dangerous Role Playing Game
"REBELS, RENEGADES AND TERRORISTS ARE ALL COMFORTED BY THE EASY AFFORDABILITY AND AVAILABILITY OF TERRIBLE WEAPONS AND THE MORE CIVILISED CUSTOMER CAN BUY ALL THE COMFORTS OF HOME FOR AN AMAZING LOW, LOW, PRICE."

In the 3300's, cheap interstellar space travel is cool and all, but people make and use stuff. Sponsored advertising about stuff is on nearly every surface of the Federal Coriolis station nearest you. Those who are gainfully employed (or those who can gainfully pillage) enjoy the modern amenities of life. Look however you desire, experience any digital time and space in near-perfect virtual reality, replace every extremity on your body, take drugs for bliss and transcendence, and defend yourself from your dealer with personal weapons well past lethal.

But when you're back on the job, you might stand shoulder-to-shoulder with your four Imperial comrades to skulk through a lightless generation ship's cramped gravityless halls, uncovering the skeletons and unfortunately for you, the last survivors. Blaze the trail of the Alliance's frontier scouts, encountering illegal artificial intelligence stock trading experiments going on where nobody can regulate it. Man the anti-air turrets, blasting Core Dynamics sponsored hit squads to hold a window for the Federal president, Zachary Hudson to escape in a Core Dynamics sponsored Federal Dropship. Rip your way through 'innocent' 'protester' crowds to secure your independent 'dictatorship's' dominance over the Orbis station.

"That tiny triangular hatch on the underside of the ship is the escape pod. It’s large enough for just one person, so if you have snuck your lover aboard your ship in defiance of ship regulations, one of you is going to have a broken heart when it’s time to evacuate. Faulcon DeLacy only has to provide enough escape pods for the entire crew of a ship; for a Sidewinder that’s one person."

E:DRPG I | The Worst Intentions
E:DRPG I Template Table

Outfitting
I feel like I should say something like "sorry for the mess" given the scattering of snipped stuff. This setup will receive the most drastic aesthetic and functional overhauls going forward. Outfitting is the hub of character creation. It includes the data tables for items and gear, as well as the pages about making a character. In addition, it has the scripted record sheets for people, vehicles, and ships, and the necessary data tables to equip ships. I purposely excluded some helpful bits and bobbles (like defining some of the terms that appear on gear items) because I intend for you to have access to knowledge of how to play the game while you use this section. That means either buying the core book[www.edrpg.co.uk] or having a friend with one teach you the ropes. You can create a character with just the resources on this table, but it will be a bit confusing

I highly recommend checking out the sample adventure first before coming here, and then experiencing that with some pals or strangers. It is a whole self-contained package that doesn't require any E:DRPG paid products to learn, play, and enjoy. Then if you are intrigued by the game, check out all the rad items and opportunities your brain can think of about them, and only then consider purchasing to GM your gang or the greater TTS community.

Nevertheless I could still spend hours oohing and ahhing at the items in the catalog, and I bet a bunch of you guys could too.

Scripted Character Sheets
With Tabletop Sim's Lua wizardy, keeping record sheets for characters is as easy as I could think it could even get. Left mouse button to increase, right mouse button to decrease, click and type in text boxes and hit tab to go to the next one over. There are a couple of intricacies, so check the in-game manual that is next to the record sheet spawners. It takes a couple of minutes to set up a sheet (something I hope to remedy in the future), but adjusting it mid-play is easy as pie. With fairly well-optimized code, it should run snappy even if you're playing with 200 ping (that one's for you Britnin[i.kym-cdn.com]).

Development

I call this Mk. I because it is the most roughshod but complete thing that I could create under my own raw willpower with no motivation or support from the outside.

My TTSLua specialty is in making character sheets that respond in slushy liquid ways, and optimization on this sheet is fairly good enough. Still, don't load more than two dozen on a map unless you're prepared to wait for all of that Lua to read.

Mk. I : (YOU ARE HERE) Functional but carpal-tunnel inducing character & ship & vehicle sheets, ported/re-constructed art and data assets, a small but fairly complete variety of tokens and models, the two combat maps included with the game, and support for regular RPG-style personal, vehicle, and ship scale combat and roleplay, with minimal GM helper tokens and tools.

Mk. II : (EVENTUALLY YOU WILL BE HERE) Better-than-Coriolis character & ship & vehicle design using what I'd call a 'printing press' and 'catalog printer', faithfully recreated high-res art and data table assets, a wide variety of tokens and models from various sources, a wide variety of combat maps with images and art from high-rez screenshots of the E:D game world, E:D flavor gameplay experience for the personal, vehicle, and ship scale RP and combat, powerful GM tools to control the table and everything on it.

Mk. III : (We'll figure it out when we get there)

hey, just in time. I'm DMing a couple friends of mine in a Halo hack of this ruleset after some fanmades proved a bit too much. Certainly this will make a wonderful addition to game night!

Thanks! Use whatever you like for your table!
I think the lighting on some content reset so I went back and fixed this one

Lighting is always one of those things that you have to fiddle with to get just right. it saves with the table when you save/publish it so you just have to work with it once to get the numbers where you want them.

I usually keep the light intensity really low and the ambient intensity on gradient at like ~30%. Then to make the paper into paper color you change the equator/ground to white.

Oh hi! That's a wooooonderful thing you made there! Thanks a lot!

I'm trying to create some ED minis for TTS to play it here and your mod saved me 70% of the work to create a nice table.

But I don't know if I did something wrong but the lights on the mod seem to be too bright, can't even read anything now :(

I anticipate there will be some broken images & textures here eventually, so don't be shy about reporting which ones you find
