Rocket League

Is soccer and driving combined. This is a cross-platform game, so you can play in it with Steam, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch players.
Rocket League has many gamemodes, such as Hoops, Snow Day, Rumble, Dropshot.
But main gamemodes are Casual and Competitve, they have 4 divisions:

• 3v3 Standard
  
• 2v2 Doubles
  
• 1v1 Duel
  
• 4v4 Chaos

3..2..1.. GO!

The Main Task

To score the most enemy goals. To win you need to have more goals than your enemy have.
In standard match you have 5 minutes and unlimited goals.
And of course, you need to change your "gameplay" all game between Offense and Defense. So you must wouldn't let your enemy to score a goal you too.

Gamemodes

Casual or Competitive

Just an original gamemode of the game.

Hoops

Hoops is a basketball gamemode. It's like casual, but harder to score.

Snow Day

Snow Day is a hockey gamemode. It's like casual, but there is no ball!
There is only a puck!

Dropshot

Dropshot is a special gamemode. Ball spawns in the middle of arena, in the air.
To win you need to "break" the floor of enemy, and score in it. If ball touches enemies floor, but last player who touched ball was enemy, floor won't break.

For ex. You shot the ball and it has touched the enemies floor, floor damaged (or broken).
But if you shot the ball, after you it touches enemy, and ball anyway has touched the enemy floor, floor won't damage (or break).

After floor has broken, there will be hole, this hole is enemy goals.

Leveling System

Your level and XP are displayed in the lower left corner of the HUD.
You can earn new titles at different levels. Online games gives twice as much experience than offline games.

• Match Completion - Earn bonus XP for finishing matches and not quitting early.
  
• Consecutive Matches - Earn bonus 200 XP for staying in the same Casual lobby for multiple matches.
  
• Backfill - Earn bonus XP if you are matched into a game-in-progress in Casual and then complete it.
  
• Weekly Wins - For your first 21 wins per week (3 wins per day), you’ll earn an extra 2500 XP.

As you reach new level, you will get level reward: a random item of Uncommon quality or better. If you leave from the match you won't recieve any XP and rewards. If you leave from the competitive match you will recieve ban for online matches (5 mins).

For level you can get also player borders!

Player Banners

Player banners, released on September 28, 2017, can be seen throughout Rocket League.
Some player banners have customizable background colors, while others may be animated.

Competitive Ranks

Rocket League has 19 ranks, and each rank has 4 divisions.

For Ex.
Diamond II - Division III
Diamond II - Division IV

Points

Earning points is how players level up and progress through player ranks. Each player can gain points from various actions throughout the match.

At the end of a match, the player on the winning team with the most points gets MVP (Most Valuable Player) and is awarded an additional 100 points.

I won't make full list of actions you can make, these are the basic actions that gives you points, other actions you can see in the game.

Boost System

Game have boost-system that allows you to ride your car faster or fly.



You have Boost Meter in your HUD.
At round start Boost Meter starts at 34%.
Boost Meter can be refilled by Boost Pads.

FULL BOOST PAD

This Boost Pad contains 100% refill boost.

SMALL BOOST PAD

This Boost Pad contains 12% refill boost.

Spawn Locations

There is only five spawn locations on every map:

• Wings: Outside the penalty area in front of the defender spawn
  - Firstly, you playing the kick-off.
  
• Defenders: Inside the penalty area in front of the goalie spawn
  - Firstly, you help Goalie or take boost first.
  
• Goalie: Directly in front of the goal, inside the goal box
  - Firstly, you defend your goal until kick-off.

Kick-Off

Being as Wing you need to do kick-off at round start.



The Easiest Way:

1. Drive forward (W as default) to ball, but not missing boost pads and hold boost button (LMB as default)
   
2. As you reach ball, to make your punch harder, face your car straight to ball and press Jump (RMB as default) twice while holding Forward.

Fly Technique

There is 3 stages of fly ability:

1. Standard Fly

   Jump, raise the nose of the car up, hold boost.
   
   
   

2. Progressive Fly

   Double Jump, raise the nose of the car up, hold boost.
   
   
   

3. Freestyle Fly

   Jump/Double Jump, raise the nose of the car up, hold boost, spin and make beautiful tricks in the air.
   
   
   Don't worry if you can't do third stage, you needn't this.

Training

Training is an offline game mode that is designed to help players practice and master a few of the most fundamental skills in the game. The training scenarios are essentially all about making contact with the ball, but in different starting points and with different targets.

Free Play

You can choose which arena to do Free Play in, and it will put you in that arena with nothing but the ball. The player's Battle-Car is also decked out in a black-and-white version of its decal and paint finish.

Goalie, Striker, Aerial

Basic trainings in the game, with 3 levels of difficulty.

Custom Training

This feature lets players build and share their own training sequences within the community.

You can create, browse, share, favorite and search for a custom trainings.

Garage

The Garage allows a player to customize their Battle-Car, create different presets, manage their inventory, and purchase keys.

Presets

Players can create up to, 50 presets, where different customization options can be stored. They can be renamed and deleted as required.

Inventory

The inventory lists any keys, decryptors, and crates, and unlocked non-common items that a player has.
Items can also be traded in.

Trade-In System

The Trade-In System was introduced in Patch v1.19 (June, 2016). It allows trading in 5 items at a time. 1 randomly drawn item of the next-highest quality is obtained in exchange.

Trade-In is just a craft system.

Downloadable Content (DLC) is additional content created for Rocket League.

Trading System

You need to be friends with the person you wish to trade with. After that one can invite (main menu: "Create Party" button) the player to join their party inside the game.

Restrictions:

• Common items, Premium DLC items, and certain Limited items such as Competitive rewards cannot be traded – they are bound to the account.
  
  
• 24 Items per trade limit.

Be Careful

Scamming Tactics

1. The most successful scam to date is adding uncommon items to the trade box hiding the valuable item, then removing said item and accepting the trade. To prevent this common scam, always double check the valuable item is in the trade box before clicking accept.

2. Duplication: If you see this word, it is a scam.

3. Lying about item colors, always click SHOW DETAILS. For example, black and grey can look to be the same color.

4. Paypal, CS GO SKINS, Wallet Codes: Be very careful when trading for outside items. There is ZERO protection and always a risk when dealing anyone claiming to offer these items. Keep in mind trading for real money is against the Terms of Service.

5. Impersonations: Users have reported individuals impersonating popular youtubers and streamers in order to get free items, do not fall for it.

6. If your being offered OUTSIDE ITEMS, I highly urge you to use a middle man to make it safe for both individuals.

7. False +Rep: Anyone can fake having +Rep from past trades, thus having +rep on a profile means literally nothing. There are even groups/guides that offer fake +rep for fake +rep.

8. Trade Banned & Private Profiles: Be very cautious around private profiles and accounts with trade bans. Luckily, even private profiles cannot hide from being already trade banned. If your trading 50+ Keys or outside items, be careful.

9. Steam Level: Like +rep, steam level means nothing. A scammer can be rank 0 or rank 100, the best scammers are high levels, do no trade outside items or 50+ keys to people without a reputable middleman.

10. Fake Price Guide Scam: Be very careful with untrusted price guides promoting fake or low prices for expensive items. Certain creators of guides are purposely lowering prices on popular items so they can buy them cheaply and sell them for more.

11. Certification Bug: As some of you experienced traders may already know, there is an occasional bug where certification of an item doesn't appear in the trade box. Scammers have taken advantage of this bug to take your precious items. Screenshots can be a solution to this, however reports have shown scammers can switch the bugged certified item for a non certified item and the other individual will have no idea. The best method to counter this bug is ask the trader to broadcast the trade so you can see the bugged certified item. Steam has a free broadcast option you can use at any time.

Replays

You can save a match replay after you played it.
Just don't leave after match ends, and press button at left side - Save Replay.

You can always see your Replays in the menu:
Main Menu > Extras > Replays

Competitive Tactics

"Rotation" is the best technique to win.

Lets create a 3v3 environment to explain how correct positioning looks like. The first thing of all is, you should never ever be on the same spot as a teammate. There is not even one situation where this can be helpful and yes, not even in net, it is a waste of resources. Now, as mentioned before, in relation to positioning people like to talks about rotation. A healthy rotation in a 3v3 game looks like this, where Player 1 (P1) is playing the ball in their half, for example along the right wall:



In this scenario Player 2 (P2) is the backup for P1, meaning he has to position himself to be able to react to two possible outcomes of a play made by P1; P1 either manages to center the ball, or a defensive player clears the ball. P2 has to be positioned in such fashion that he is able to react to both outcomes of P1s play. Player 3 (P3) isn't very active yet, because he is acting as the last line of defense.

As soon as P1 ends his play either by centering or losing the ball, every red player has to reposition himself according to the new situation. Let's ignore the possibility of a successful center and discuss what would or should happen in the case of a clear by the opponent. The blue player closest to the ball clears over P1, what now?



I know this starts to look very technical, but bear with me. P1 is now out of the active play and has to back up, since he can't do anything useful from his position. P2 was his backup the whole time, so P1 doesn't have to bother about the ball anymore. At this time P2 is now the one playing the ball and since P1 is completely on the other side of the field, P3 ins now the backup for P2. If we take a short look at the blue team, the same happened there. You can see one player playing the ball and one being his backup. The blue player in net doesn't have to move because A) He doesn't want to disturb the player in the middle that is working as backup and B) When the ball is in your half, there ALWAYS should be somebody in net, more to this when we talk about goalkeeping.

If now P2 manages to hit the ball into the corner, P3 will follow him at a reasonable distance. P3 is the backup now, so he again needs to be ready for either a center or a clear by the next opponent. This repeats itself in every situation, every place on the field. It's always one player on the ball, one backing him up and the third one repositioning himself according to the other two players.

Connection Quality

The four indicators are:

• Server Health: When the server itself is experiencing issues, like eating up too much memory
  
• Packet Loss: Data being transferred between you and the server is lost
  
• Latency Variance: When your ping isn’t holding steady, typically fluctuating 40ms-60ms
  
• High Latency: Commonly known as “lag,” usually indicated by a high ping to the server

Arena Preferences

An “Arenas” button has been added to the Playlist menu that allows players to “Like” or “Dislike” specific maps. “Liking” an arena increases the odds that you will play it in online matches, while “Disliking” has the opposite effect.

When a server chooses the next Arena, the servers factors in the preferences of all connected players. A map is less likely to be chosen if multiple players “Dislike” said map. Your preferences are applied to all Playlists by default. You can however setup custom “Likes” and “Dislikes” that can be changed on each Playlist.

Decryptor

Decryptors are key-like items that can be used to unlock crates, including crates obtained during special events, without having to purchase a key. They are classed as of Limited quality.

Items obtained from crates that have been opened with a decryptor cannot be traded with other players.

Rocket Pass

Rocket Pass is a brand new, time-limited progression system that will give you several ways to earn new content in Rocket League.



The Free Rocket Pass will have Rewards that unlock automatically, giving everyone the opportunity to earn FREE new Customization Items, Player Banners, in-game Titles and Decryptors.

If you’re looking for additional content to unlock, you can choose to purchase the Premium Rocket Pass upgrade for ten Keys (USD $9.99 or regional equivalent). This comes with even more content, including new Customization Items, new Car Bodies, Keys, Premium Player Banners and Premium Titles. You’ll also unlock ‘XP Boosts’ that multiply your earned XP throughout the duration of your Rocket Pass, as well as ‘XP Awards’ that can help you advance through Rocket Pass more quickly.



Each time you level up while Rocket Pass is active, you'll earn one Pass Tier. The more Tiers you earn, the more rewards you unlock. If you want those Premium rewards sooner than later, you can also ‘Tier Up’ by purchasing Tiers outright with Keys.

Radical Summer

Radical Summer is an in-game event, kicking off on June 10, 2019. The 9-week event will feature free items, new Premium Licensed DLCs, limited-time game modes, and more!

This extremely choice event is split into three celebrations of the 1980s: Blockbusters, Culture, and Television. Each celebration lasts three weeks. Similar to previous events, play Online Matches to earn ‘Cassettes’ and redeem them for in-game, '80s-themed items all summer long. Radical Summer's Event Store will change for each phase of Radical Summer, bringing in new items for your Battle-Car. And don’t worry, at the end of the event, we’ll give you a week to redeem Cassettes for any items you may have missed.

Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Car Pack

Get ready to go ghost hunting in the Ecto-1. The Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Car Pack will include a bunch of fan-favorite items from the iconic Ghostbusters, which is celebrating its 35th Anniversary, including the Ecto-1 Battle-Car, Ecto-1 Wheels, Proton Pack Rocket Boost, Slimer Topper, Ghostbusters Player Banner and Avatar Border, and the Stay Puft Goal Explosion.

Ghost Hunt Mode

To celebrate the arrival of Ghostbusters' Ecto-1 Battle-Car, jump into the new wickedly spooky Ghost Hunt Mode. Ghost Hunt, which will be featured in the Blockbusters phase of Radical Summer, is a 3v3 mode where each team uses their proton stream power-ups to try to trap the ghostly ball in your opponents' Containment Zone. Ghost hunt features new, scary lighting and ghostly sound effects on the Urban Central Arena and will be playable until July 1.

Spike Rush Mode

Kicking off Radical Summer's Culture phase will be the high-octane Spike Rush mode. In this 3v3 mode, each player has the Spike power-up from Rumble Mode that can be activated to carry the ball, and deactivated to pull off some wild psych outs. It all goes down on our Throwback Stadium Arena to commemorate Rocket League's fourth anniversary.

'80s Television

July 22 at 10 a.m. PDT (5 p.m. UTC) until August 12

Knight Rider Car Pack

K.I.T.T., the high-speed, talking futuristic car outfitted with high-tech gadgets and a personality of its own from the hit '80s show Knight Rider, is reporting for duty and will come as part of its own Car Pack later in Radical Summer!

Beach Ball Mode

Hit the beaches of Salty Shores to close out Radical Summer in our Beach Ball Mode. Beach Ball Mode features 2v2 action with a larger ball, low ball gravity, and the Curveball mutator activated. So enjoy this sunny, feel-good mode that is worthy of a classic '80s beach volleyball montage.

Popular Problems

The most players of Rocket League make mistakes, so there are the popular mistakes.

[ Ball-Chasing ]

This game has a tendency to cause tunnel vision, which often has players spending 100% of their time flying towards the ball. In a match with these players, it is common to see them all clustering at the ball, hitting it in random directions until it eventually finds its way into a goal.

DO NOT

Watch the other players. If another player is closer to the ball than you are and is going faster than you, get ready for where he is going to send the ball, rather than speeding straight towards it.

[ TOXICITY ]

Toxicity ruin your game, calm down. It's just a game. More you rage > More you lose.
Remember, if you lost, it's mean you got an experience, save your replay, and watch your problems and troubles, and you're not best player yet. Train, train and train..

[ Boost Managment ]

Running out of boost at the wrong time can mean an easy goal for the other team, or a missed opportunity for your team. Boosting can allow you to swoop in front of a runaway ball that is heading towards your goal, to slam a ball into the opposing goal, or to fly up and hit the ball out of the air.

Don't forget to change your gameplay. IT'S IMPORTANT.

[ Safe Position ]

Some of you may be wondering "When I'm not going for the ball, where should I be?" Well, the exact distances are difficult (too close and the ball pops over you, too far and you aren't ready for the ball to be centered), but you should be somewhere between the ball and your goal. I've never seen an instance where a player was on the other side of the ball and then thought "Oh, I'm glad that he was there!" It doesn't happen, so if you end up on the wrong side of the ball, circle back around.
