Large Drone Station

Description
Compatible with Picards update (Space Race, Green Planet and Below&Beyond DLC's)

What does this do?
Large Drone Station (a remote usage Drone Hub), 3 Hex Building
Slightly smaller than a Drone Hub but larger than a Recharge Station

Costs;
  • 6 Concrete
  • 9 Metals
  • 4 Polymers
  • 2 Electronics

Maintenance;
1 Electronics, but deteriorates slowly
The 'Autonomous Hubs' breakthrough will eliminate maintenance, like any standard Drone Hub

Provides;
10 power when open/on
Drone Command Range within 12 hexes
Initial Drones on build (see below)

Includes 6 different coloured variations and it should respect Colony Colour Schemes

Can be turned on/off individually or en masse

Why?
It has been designed for use at small remote outposts/situations (like the countless amount of Seed Spreaders you might want) or for smaller controlled drone work like shuffling waste rock around, or as an extra task manager in a small radius so you can use it to satisfy local demands with its drones whilst your major hubs organise shuffling resources across your Universal Depots..or to bridge that small gap/oversight in your drone network, instead of building another power guzzling, electric material munching drone hub... the bonus here is that it also that in provides 10 power for whatever remote thing it may be near (like a concrete extractor, concrete depot, waste rock pile setup in the far corners of the map)

Starting Drones;
Initially comes with 3 drones and can command up to 6
IF your sponsor is 'SpaceY' you will get an additional bonus drone (4 on build)
IF you have researched 'Drone Swarm' you will get an additonal bonus drone (4 on build) and max command is increased to 30 (same ratio as for standard Drone Hubs 20>100, or x5)
IF your sponsor is 'SpaceY' AND you have 'Drone Swarm' researched you will get 3 bonus drones (6 on build) as well as the max command increased to 30

Fixes;
Mod contains a fix for Drone Interactions with Drone Hubs and the attached Recharge Stations;
Drones will now use the other stations at the hub if it is available to charge, or queue at the nearest station of the hub selected

Extras;
Mod contains a custom infopanel designed for the Large Drone Station which includes a version of SkiRich's Toggle Work Zone, idea copied with permission

Special Thanks to;
ChoGGi for mod support, code help, fixes and tweaks
SkiRich for mod support, code help and TWZ permissions

~ Enjoy !! and please buy me a Cuppa Tea[www.buymeacoffee.com]

Due to real life issues I will unlikely return to modding for Surviving Mars.
Other modmakers are free to use, improve and re-release my mods as needed, all I ask is credit given and a link to the original mod in the description ~ Many Thanks

the mod is really great and works basically really well!

i just confirmed the issue with drones not working after dust storm is over. power off/on solves the issue. the drones are still linked just idling around.

regarding the repair issue: repair in any thinkable way was not possible. destroying and building a new one worked nicely. i did not check if "rebuild" works.

I should really update these descriptions to reflect that I have moved away from modding SM... BUT I'd miss out on crucial bug-reports like yours for when/if I can return to the scene :)

Hope your having fun still ... and stay safe :)

As per the comments before yours;
I'll admit it's been almost a year since I last worked on any Surviving Mars Project.

I'm really sorry I don't have the time to investigate your issues. :( Other projects have pulled me away from modding for SM.
I have no idea what would be causing the un-linking of drones to the controller, nor do I have the first idea on how to make it compatible with the newer features of Choggi's mods (like repair and request). I am deeply sorry for this and hope it doesn't truly sour your experience of the game or mods.

Do the drones 'eventually' repair it on their own ? Can it be destroyed an rebuilt from that state ?

another problem: after the station got disabled needing repairs e.g. after a nearby meteor hit, surrounding drones dont start the repair. even manually, when you load electronics on a drone, you cannot give the command "deliver / repair" on the bulding. the cursor does not change like with other buildings needing repair / ressources to build. also: choggi enhanced his mod so that the extra "maintenance request" appears also for this station, but clicking it here has no effect - in contrast to other buildings.

great mod. i noticed a little bug: after a dust storm the controlled dont automatically get back to work. i needed to power off and power on the station, that made the drone control work again.

I'll admit it's been almost a year since I last worked on any Surviving Mars Project... but if ChoGGi's Mod's still exist they were the number one route into getting a whole host of debug options as well as gamefixes.

Even if you could provide a savefile for me to test this issue myself would be helpful, as I can't reproduce it, at all. Obviously if I can't reproduce the bug, I can't even attempt to figure out what is going wrong or work out a fix. :)

I see. Well, since the game isn't crashing it doesn't put anything on the logfile (in "%APPDATA%/Surviving Mars"), or anywhere I can take a look at. Do you know a way to put the game into debug mode or force it to print verbose output? I tried to run the game from a terminal and it doesn't even print anything related to this
