School of the Wolf
The School of the Wolf, born in the 11th century is one of organizations which train and equip witchers (the monster slayers).
Located in a fortress, between the mountains of north-eastern Kaedwen called Kaer Morhen, this school had became one of the most famous thanks to the Witcher Geralt of Rivia also renamed the white wolf, who with his deeds did know the existence of this organization worldwide though many saw it with disdain, perhaps for fear, perhaps for diversity or maybe because of their way of getting new ''students'' who knows...
The witchers of the Wolf were trained physically (with the teaching of the use of the sword, with learning signs and with the improvement of balance, strength and agility) and mentally (with the study of monster features, with with the knowledge of herbs and the preparation of bombs)
New students were also subjected to 3 test, the trial of the Grasses, the trial of the Dreams and the trial of the mountains.
The last witchers of this school were Vesemir,Eskel,Geralt,Lambert,Leo and Ciri who saw the ultimate downfall of the school in the 13th century, when it fell under attacks of the Salamandra and the Wild Hunt.
Kaer Morhen
Kaer Morhen is an ancient inaccessible mountain fortress built in the 11th century in north-eastern part of the Kaedwen empire, which hosted for many years the headquarters of the wolf witchers.
Its name derives from the ancient elvish term Caer a' Muirehen (Keep of the Elder Sea).
Kaer Morhen can only be reached across a narrow path called ''The witcher Trail'' on which the students practiced running and breathing control.
This fortress includes many rooms divided into floors:
courtyard
underground:witcher's laboratory and circle of whispering stones
ground floor:kitchen and dining room
second floor:saloon,library,armory and west wing
third floor:bedroom
Fanatics who considered witchers an abomination attacked the keep and killed most of the teachers and students, the castle's times of glory have passed, its battlements and moat have deteriorated, a cold wind blows through its spacious halls.

Law of Surprise

The Law of Surprise is a custom as old as humanity itself. The Law dictates that a man saved by another is expected to offer to his savior a boon whose nature is unknown to one or both parties. In most cases, the boon takes the form of the saved man's firstborn child, conceived or born without the father's knowledge.
This law has led to many boys being taken by witchers away from their families to be trained since the fathers were rescued from monsters while travelling by one of the famed monster-slayers.
Ciri was one such child and she became Geralt's apprentice years before and long before the role she was about to play in the future was revealed.

coen isnt from the griffin school as the griffiin school didnt even exist in the books...the witchers at Kaer Morhen already knew him, and geralt introduced him to triss as one of the young witchers like Lambert( they were probably in the same training class)

@Eskel how's that? Coën is in Kaer Morhen in Blood of Elves. Do the games imply at some point that he was a griffin school witcher?
