Ruler Abilities Expanded

This mod adds an ability to spend mana to increase your ruler's stats. It is a gradual process and somewhat of an investment on mana for the long run. Effective on young rulers.
Further changes include an ability to "exploit" your ruler's stats to gain some mana. This is effective in case of really old rulers.
There is also the ability to establish a society. You can spend 600 mana (depending on category) to establish a society. The bonuses (and small drawbacks) are given below.

EDUCATE RULER: (can be taken every 10 years)
One of the following can be choosen:
--> spend 180 adm points to gain +1 adm on your ruler
--> spend 180 dip points to gain +1 dip on your ruler
--> spend 180 mil points to gain +1 mil on your ruler

EXPLOIT RULER: (can be taken every 10 years)
One of the following can be choosen:
--> gain 50 adm points to get -1 adm on your ruler
--> gain 50 dip points to get -1 dip on your ruler
--> gain 50 mil points to get -1 mil on your ruler

ESTABLISH A SOCIETY (ONE of the following can be re-selected every 10 years, otherwise it's permanent)
Either adm, dip, or mil: (also each sub-category has two choices)

-Pay 600 ADM: +10% administrative efficiency & +25% unjustified demands AND:
---> Treasurer: [+10% tax & -15% advisor cost] OR [+10% production efficinecy & -10% development cost]
OR
---> Cleric: [+1 tolerance of heretics & +1 tolerance of heathens] OR [+1% missionary strength & +1 tolerance of own]
OR
---> Scientist: [-5% tech cost & -7.5% idea cost] OR [+15% manpower recovery & -0.02 monthly war exhustion]

-Pay 600 DIP: +15% trade efficiency & +0.2 yearly corruption AND:
---> Diplomat: [+20% spy network construction & -15% claim fabrication cost] OR [+1 diplomatic reputation & -10% province war score cost]
OR
---> Trader: [+10% global trade power & +15% trade steering] OR [+10% ship trade power & +15% trade range]
OR
---> Captain: [+10% galley combat ability & +15% naval force limit] OR [+10% heavy ship combat ability & +20% national sailors]

-Pay 600 MIL: +10% land morale & +15% core creation cost AND:
---> Engineer: [+10% defensiveness & -15% fort maintenance] OR [+10% siege ability & +1 leader siege]
OR
---> Assassin: [-10% attrition & +1 leader manuever] OR [+10% movement speed & +1 hostile attrition]
OR
---> Knight: [-10% shock damage received & +1 leader shock] OR [+10% cavalry combat ability & +10% shock damage]

(these are much clearer when in-game and cycling through the events)

Note that these values may get tweaked in the future for balance purposes. Also at the moment, these only apply to players.

If you have suggestions please leave them in the comments.
I specifically want to know how the mana requirements feel at the moment. Are they too expensive or too forgiving?

1.29 MOD UPDATE :

I have reuploaded new (1.29) versions of (most) my mods. These had to be reploaded because I couldn't update the old ones due to the crappy new UI.

I have put links to the updated versions under the old mods' description.

Sorry that this update took so long.

@Leetz:
If you manually place them in the mod folder of eu4 they should show up in the eu4 mod selector interface. Make sure folder locations are correct, the folders are not zipped and the two necessary files are both present. One is the mod content (the folder) and the other is a ".mod" file. If this doesn't work then I really don't know. Usually it's a steam problem and manual download solves it 100% of the time.

I cant make either this mod, Military expanded or Doctrine Expanded to work. They dont download and they do not apply even if i download manually and enable them.

I'm not sure what the peoblem is, but I will try to help you. When you subscribe on steam and download them they should appear in the mod section when you start up eu4. Try running eu4 after stean download is completed, then exit the game and start it up again. They should be there. If they aren't then there is something wrong with steam download.
What you can do is manually download my mods, unzip and place them in the eu4 mod folder. I have given a manual download link in my Expanded mod collection. Manual download should guarantee that nothing goes wrong with the downloading process.
Hope this helps you.

I would get rid of the cost and benefit when you decide between admin, diplo, and mil and then add the actual decisions in the next menu where you can take an approach to how you wanna increase that monarch power.
Monarch May 28, 2019 @ 1:33am
Hey just an idea, but maybe add another event chain for when you choose to study a subject you can choose how to apporach it. Ex. Either go to a well known/famous university to get a small prestige buff until the ruler dies, get a tutor which increases the field by +2 instead of 1 at the cost of lots prestige, and ducats, get educated by the estates which increases their influence and loyalty at the cost of prestige, the monarch point that gets increased would also correlate to the estate. Ex. Getting educated by burghers increases diplo, church admin, nobles mil, janisarries mil, etc. You get the idea.
