Top 5 Multiplayer Mount and Blade: Warband mods played on a daily basis

This is my first steam guide, I hope a lot of people find it useful! Please remember that this guide IS NOT a top five guide based on my favorite Mount and Blade: Warband mods. This guide shows the top 5 multiplayer mods played on a daily basis as of August 2013.

For those that do not know who I am, I am the head developer of Persistent Frontier which was the featured mod of taleworlds for 3 months and currently is the #3 played mod of warband.

#1 Persistent World

What is Persistent World?

Persistent World is a medieval sandbox modification. Though it was intentionally built for sandbox type gameplay, a lot of players rather enjoyed more role play oriented gameplay. Eaither type is fine depending on what you enjoy more.

Why would I play Persistent World?

Persistent World offers an entire different gameplay experience than native warband. You can start up your own faction with friends, have some mining for iron which can be used to make weapons and armor, you can have some patrolling the roads to make sure bandits are not robbing poor serfs and you can have some guarding the front gate of your castle to make sure random people are not just storming in. The biggest difference is that you no longer HAVE to fight all the time, you can choose other professions such as a serf who mines and farms or a blacksmith who crafts weapons and armor, or a huntsmen who hunts deer and boars for meat.

Why is Persistent World popular?

Persistent World is popular because it revolutionized how warband could be played. Rather than being in a set team fighting a set opponent, you could now forge alliances, declare war on who you wanted to, negotiate peace talks and much much more.

#2 cRPG

What is cRPG?

cRPG is a medieval module. It allows you to develop your personal character like no other mod does. Through combat and experience, you can level up your characters stats and buy new equipment. You start off as a peasant wielding a sickle, however, play long enough and you'll end up as a knight with a flamburg!

Why would I play cRPG?

If you are into developing your character from a meager peasant to a knight that destroys everything, then cRPG is for you! The mod is linked with a website where you can buy all your equipment from. There is a large variety of weapons and armor compared to native warband. For instance, there is Japanese armor and katanas and enormous 2 handed war hammers and swords!

Why is cRPG popular?

cRPG is popular because it gives players a pure RPG experience of developing their characters from start to finish. This gameplay style is very well executed and it is no wonder why it's the #2 played mod in warband!

#3 Persistent Frontier

What is Persistent Frontier?

Persistent Frontier is an 18th century sandbox modification of Persistent World. Much like Persistent World, in Persistent Frontier there are other professions that do not involve fighting. You can forge alliances with the Colonial Settlement, Soldier factions and Native tribes... or declare war on them!

Why would I play Persistent Frontier?

Persistent Frontier offers you an entirely new gameplay experience that you haven't witnessed before in the same time era for any game or mod out there! You have many different gameplay choices: You can choose to be a colonist who mines, chops wood and farms, a frontiersmen who has excellent marksmanship skills which is useful when hunting bears and buffalo for their raw hides which sell for a decent amount of money, a soldier who has excellent agility and melee fighting capabilities, a native American who has three sub classes, warrior, archer and musketeer or a highwayman looking to raid trade routes and prey on those who travel alone. There are many, many different opportunities to experience the mod in a different way!

Why is Persistent Frontier popular?

Apart from being the only sandbox set in the 18th century, the Persistent Frontier community offers you a lot of events and maps that are set throughout the 18th century! The main plot of the mod is set in the colonization of America period, however, community events take place in many different time periods and areas all over the globe! This makes it so the mod has a lot of potential to explore and is not limited to a certain event.

#4 Full Invasion 2

What is Full Invasion 2?

Full Invasion 2 is a multiplayer modification for Mount & Blade: Warband. In Full Invasion 2 players cooperate as a team to survive against as many waves of invaders as possible in Invasion game mode. This multiplayer mode only module is an approved and supported sequel of Full Invasion mod by Arch3r.

Why would I play Full Invasion 2?

The reasons to play Full Invasion 2 are vast in number. One major reason to play the mod is because of this: If you have played and enjoyed other Invasion mods such as Nord Invasion, Zombiee and The Hornburg this is a must-try if you like Invasion game mode. The variety of content, literally thousands of new items to use and over 50 factions in total plus over 120+ maps makes Full Invasion 2 a worthwhile experience. Many people applaud the Full Invasion revival; the popularity has caused hundreds of players to join the servers running to have massive epic battles against bots. Another reason to play the mod is the Dev Team gives support to players for technical problems on moddb/steam/Taleworlds, we have many plans for the mod still in progress. I give a lot of care and dedication to the mod development and to the players’ enjoyment. I keep a list of servers I update regularly on Taleworlds so players know which servers to join. In addition, I take the time to join the servers with players playing to take suggestions/bug reports from the players themselves, we have taken some suggestions by various players and implemented them as requested. Many of us are Full Invasion players and supporters who have been given kindly permission to revive Full Invasion with Arch3r’s approval. Thus, we have taken Full Invasion from years of being inactive; to overhaul the module to today’s popularity and success.

Why is Full Invasion 2 popular?

Full Invasion 2 is vastly popular because I took the opportunity to begin a mod revival, from Full Invasion known in the days as a famous co-op mod. The fame has soared; I have met a team of modders and supporters who have given me huge amount of help to help make the idea of reviving Full Invasion from the ground up a reality. The revival of the Invasion game mode has been done before, but this time Full Invasion 2 strives to exceed all expectations from the past mods of Full Invasion’s history. The module is best played with a group of friends.

#5 Vikingr

What is Vikingr?

Vikingr recreates the dark ages of Europe. You can choose to fight for the Viking, Englisc Saxons, Normans or the Eastern Rus. With more realism in it's combat system (slower archer rate of fire, slower melee swing speed) this mod has a lot of opportunity to interest a lot of players.

Why would I play Vikingr?

If you enjoy more realistic combat compared to native warband then Vikingr is for you! Vikingr changes melee, ranged and mounted combat. Also, the shield wall events are really fun especially since you can bang your weapon on your shield!

Why is Vikingr popular?

Though it's not as popular as it used to be, Vikingr is still played on a daily basis. With it's realistic combat system and blood thirsty Vikings, it's a mod to be played for years to come!

Persistant frontier and Vikingr are mostly dead as of now, you would have better luck with North and South or Iron Europe

and u can play ALL mods if u add em to your game moduls! < computer > program 86 > steam > steamaps>common>warband>moduls and past the file :)
