If you want to know how to fix it, go to steam library, right click on the game, properties, locale files, select the box to get to the installation folder, if you are there go right click on the .EXE with the picture and run as ADMIN.

Wenn du wissen willst, wie man das Problem behebt, gehe in die Steam-Bibliothek, klicke mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Spiel, die Eigenschaften und die Lokalen-Dateien, wähle dort , wähle das Kästchen aus um in den Installationsordner zu gelangen. Wenn du dort bist, klicke mit der rechten Maustaste auf die .EXE mit Bild und als ADMIN ausführen.

Old post but I had the same problem today. Had to turn steam overlay off and now it works.

I was having the same issue earlier, and just reinstalled it, then restarted my PC.

try running compatiable with windows 7

If this doesn't work, try right clicking the application in the same folder and instead changing its compatibility mode to Windows Vista. This worked for me when running as an admin didn't.

Tried that and it didn't work for me. I had to right click the EXE and check for compatibility problems. Somehow Windows figures out the problem itself if you do that.
