OK, here's my suggestions for Pixls:
Tippi: Yo Listen (Was there even a question?)
Thoreau: Lil' Chubby (shoots as a straight projectile, just like in the game)
Boomer: Mr. Boom (activatable Bomb)
Slim: Camo Pants (Can't really think of a familiar for this, but Camo Pants could work)
Thudley: Daddy Longlegs (The spriting could be a little awkward, but I think it would work out)
Carrie: Some flying item (probably Holy Grail...?)
Fleep: Lil' Haunt (Doesn't reveal secrets, but does track down and confuse enemies)
Cudge: I have no idea (???)
Dottie: Mini Mush (Good enough, I guess)
Barry: Dry Baby (If you add him, PLEASE name him "Dry Barry". It'll be great; I promise.)
Dashell: Roid Rage (Fast Boi)
Piccollo: Dog Tooth (probably plays a little tune when adjacent to a secret room)
