Stop it, Slender! Slender man guide:
Por Cody
Hello everyone. This is a guide to playing as the slender man in the garrys mod game mode Stop it, Slender! in this guide I will explain the controls, tactics and some quick tips. I don't want to include too much because I want you to play it in your own way, instead of copying every single line of my guide and use it in the game. I have also done a basic and quick human guide if you want to check it out.

Server info and objectives:
The server I play on is the MrGreenGaming.com servers I will be talking about those servers specifically so other servers may be different to what im about to explain. the game Stop it, Slender usually has 14 players (the server player limit) by default. 13 players are human, and 1 is slender man. The human’s objective is simple: collect the 8 pages (or less/more depending on what map you play on) that are scattered around the map. Slender man’s objective is also simple: kill everyone. Also as the slender man you can only use text chat [Y] and you can hear the spectators when they use voice chat.
Slender vision:
Before I get started on the controls something you should know is that slender man does not need a flashlight to see, as they can see everything clearly as you can see in the picture below. In what I’m going to call “Slender vision” you can see all human players through the walls, their health and how many pages they have. The human’s health is shown through the colour of their bodies: green means full health, orange is half and red is when you should work on finishing them off. Once the human’s health is down halfway it can regenerate if it goes any lower, but the human’s base health will now be only half. You can see how many pages the humans have above their heads, so keep an eye on them because you don’t want to be distracted by a person with 1 page while a person with 7 wins the game. Also once a human gets 4 or 5 pages slender man can teleport but I will get on to that further down this guide. Now pay attention to the three picture below:

The top left one shows the pages above the human’s heads (this was done in spectator so it does not show the health colours) and the heads up display (HUD). On the HUD it shows a red X in the bottom right showing you are invisible above the words say no one sees you (after all you are invisible), and to the right it shows RMB-toggle invisibility. The picture on the right shows a green X showing that you are visible as well as the toggle invisibility words, however as you can see this person is not looking at the slender man so it still says no one sees you. The final picture below the first one show all green on everything and as you can see beside the toggle invisibility it says blocked. When somebody sees you cannot go invisible again until they stop looking at you. also below toggle invisibilty would show the ability to teleport if somebody collected enough pages.
Slender controls:
Right mouse button (RMB) is used to toggle your invisibility. When you spawn as slender you will spawn visible, so the first thing you want to do is go invisible. You can walk as slender when visible but only when people cannot see you and you will walk slow, but if you are invisible you can run faster than the humans which can be very helpful in setting up an ambush.

Left mouse button (LMB) can be used to teleport but only when the humans collect enough pages or if round has gone on for too long. You can only teleport when visible and when you’re at a distance. Using the teleport you can ambush a player and make them run another way only for you to be able to teleport and appear in front of them again.

Control (CTRL) can be used for crouching (but I think you can only do it when invisible) and you use space to jump (again I think only can use when invisible) which can be useful for getting into areas to set a trap for the humans.
How to ambush, trap and kill:
To kill a human you have to get them to either look at you long enough, touch them, or get them to such a low health they can fall to their deaths. To do this you must know how to ambush and trap your prey.

Remember when I wrote that when invisible slender man can run faster than humans? Use that to your advantage!

• I see far too many people trying to spawn right behind their target and attempt to catch them. It won’t work. Don’t bother, instead watch their patterns and ambush them ahead.

• Hide around corners and trees and when the Vic-I mean human gets close pop out the corner and make sure he does not have any sleep tonight.

• Hiding behind closed doors can be a very useful (and get a good scare reaction). Simply stand in front a door and wait for the human to open it. Once they see you they will most likely be shocked and struggle to get out the room they just entered. Use your faster run speed to block their exits!

• If there is a group of people around one page then this is the perfect chance to trap them around the page. With so many people trying to get the page they most likely won’t bother look behind them to see you waiting in line. Once they do however they are most likely trapped in a wall where they found the page.

• Remember as slender when you are visible you can walk so if you run behind somebody and they try to walk away, block them and make sure they don’t get away without suffering *evil grin*.

• A tactic I like to use is let the humans think they are winning. This can be risky and you don’t have to do it but, remember when I said about the ability to teleport when the humans get enough pages? Purposely let a single human get enough pages to do it and then kill him shortly afterwards before he collects any more. Now you can teleport and nobody will get away for long.
  • Maps such as TTT slender have incredibly open areas, but at the same time have many rooms and corridors. Instead of revealing yourself in the open area, you should wait in places where there are walls and inside rooms so you will have the best advantage over the humans (Thanks GAZ Vodnik for the idea).

• Just have a good laugh. Playing slender man is fun, especially to hear people’s reactions on the mic when you pull off a good ambush.
Thats all folks!
Thank you for reading my guide. Feel free to add anything in the comments or fix anything I might have got wrong and feel free to ask me any questions. Goodbye...for now :)

in the second section under the images of the "Slender Vision" section, the fourth "invisibility" is spelled "invisiblty" with a missing I.

But in "Stop it, Slender!" you are right into the "action", the atmosphere is better (at least for me) and you get the chance to scare the living crap out of the others. >:D

I find your guide really useful and think, that an additional part about difficult maps like ttt_slender and tactics would improve your guide even further.

Now that's where I would bring up some balance suggestions, like adding a second Slenderman in after a set number of players exceeds and/or removing the regenerating health.

Speaking of Slender Fortress, it's hard for me to say what I prefer more. Because I'm a easily frighted person, I only play with a friend and he dislikes the long waiting period between games. Additionally, I find the large pool of bosses, that chase you and force you to run like mad (and some a bugged to the point of pure frustration) really boring. I just love the tension of stalking bosses, urging players to check every corner and moving carefully, so you don't accidently run into Slenderman, who just pops out in front of you.
Then there are different classes, the collecting for the team instead of just for yourself (even mixed with varied objectives) and the fancier graphics - and random item drops. :D

That's why I absolutely dislike maps like ttt_slender, where there's only one dangerous dead-end (the toilets) and the rest consists of large open areas and long passages, where you can't do nothing as Slenderman besides lurking around corners and hoping, someone will fall for it - which will only force the more experienced players to take a longer route with minimal damage. If they're not expecting it already.

When I had to fight against a group of 9+ players, there were two, who knew the map obviously very well and were extremely hard to kill. And I haven't mentioned yet that they split up, so I'll waste time to catch one, while the other collected the pages largely unaffected.
And no, that wasn't fun. For me at least.

I'm playing on a server, that doesn't let Slenderman see the locations of the pages and I must say, that it's a good idea. Because if there is just one survivor left, well... he's already dead.

But I also think, that the difficulty for Slenderman depends on the map. A map without or only a few dead-ends to kill the humans easily is very hard if he's going against experienced survivors, that know what they're doing. Of course he'll effortlessly slay anyone that runs around like a headless chicken and freaks out at the slightest glimpse of Slenderman, but the other players will give him a hard time - unless he is VERY crafty.
