Trackmobile Titan Railcar Mover

描述
This is the Trackmobile Titan railcar mover, designed for the purpose of inter-industry railcar switching.

This is just a little side project I threw together as a proof of concept...it failed, miserably. But I thought I'd finish it anyway.
Pretty simple to operate, it does not actually follow the track so you will have to steer. Also the road wheels begin spinning rapidly when you make tight turns (I think it has something to do with them being tilted).

OPERATION:
-Accessory Key On
-Start Engine
-Release handbrake
-WASD keys for forward, brakes, left and right
-Raising the Road or Traction wheels will disengage the power and steering to that set of wheels.
*Note: It consumes fuel rapidly and has small tanks so don't stray too far from a fuel source. If you leave the vehicle select the 'Low Idle' option to consume less fuel. When back aboard, turn the 'Low Idle' off before moving

I have tested it with a variety of train cars from the workshop and it works fine with most of them. It can move roughly six cars, although the speed will be decreased considerably.

If your tired of pushing cars around yourself, this might be just the ticket.

UPDATE 16 AUG 2019:
-Changed the operator's seat to the new one with the steering wheel.
*Note the circuit breakers at your feet are nonfunctional, they are there for aesthetics.

I thought so, unfortunately they didn't make the train wheels like notmal wheels. It was a great build at the time and not alot of people do rail equipment so it's always good to see it.

sarobertson7, I did give it a go the day the new wheels came out, but unfortunately they are too bulky/large to fit on this vehicle. An alternative might be to make the Shuttlewagon at some point, but that is a looong way off. Thanks for the comment and continued interest however!

sarobertson7, yes, and while it was realistic it was also pointless and because of the weak nature of sliders almost impossible to control. It also made pulling train cars harder then it needed to be.

You are welcomed. Actually I have tried this idea with some of my own tankers. The only problem is when passing by sharp corner the tanker I haul will just push the tractor onto the side wall of the railway. Don't have any idea of how to avoid this happens. Maybe need some mc to control it.

Actrually, there is a way to make it works. Use new wedges to "insert" part of connector into the carriages so that the tractor is strongly direct by the carriage and then there's no need of steering.
