(APC-Cryo) Scout primaries
Vytvořil SolarSun a spoluautoři (1)
In this guide, I will be talking about the primary weapons for the fastest of all the classes, the Scout. Most of his weapons change his gameplay style like the Shortstop being used for long range combat and the Baby Face Blaster changing his speed drastically. I'm also including my opinion on the weapons and saying what I think the best Scout weapons are.

Introduction
Lets start off with Scout tactics. His tactics mostly include him shooting his target when they can't see him and then just running all over shooting the target. Of course, different primaries (Secondaries and melees) change his style. This can be from long range combat with a Shortstop to pushing enemies away from objectives and towards a cliff with a Force a Nature. Also many players look at some of the weapons and think" It's bad weapon" or "Only noobs use it". Whatever weapon the Scout has, it can be used as a threat if used properly.
Meet the weapons
The Scattergun
This is the stock primary that the Scout gets when you first play as him on TF2. It can fire up to 6 rounds before a reload and has 38 ammo in total. It's capable of killing most classes in 2 shots and a level 3 sentry in about 4 shots up close without wrangler shield (8 with shield). It has no cons or pros making it a useful all-around weapon.

Force a Nature
Some people love this weapon. Some hate it. But I'll explain later. The Force a Nature can be recieved after earning some Scout achievements. It has 50% faster shooting than the Scattergun and shoots more bullets on shot. However you lose 10% damage (which isn't a lot) and 2/3 of the clip size meaning you can only fire 2 rounds. The reason why people like/hate it is because of the insane knockback it gives. This can used to triple jump(quad jump with Atomizer). This can be used when defending to keep enemies off CP's or carts.

The Shortstop
This is a weird scout weapon. Why? Because it's not a shotgun. Its a modified pistol. The Shortstop is ideal for Scouts who play at a distance, dealing damage while his opponent may have trouble hitting him. Its pellets are compact ( stuck together, not spread out) meaning that the Shortstop should be used for when range and accuracy are key. It has the 3rd fastest reload of the weapons and damage output isn't the best. The healing bonus is ok but not the best. The downside is an increase in push force taken from damage and airblasting by 80% which is a shame because an airblast could kill a Scout. The increase makes it much worse. Combine with a Crit-a-Cola, you can keep your distance dealing very good damage.

Baby Face's Blaster
This weapon changes the Scout's base speed in a big way. When you spawn, you become the 3rd slowest class in speed. However you gain a boost meter that lies in the corner of the screen, which fills up each time you hit someone. As the meter fills you become faster and it only takes 99 damage points with any weapon ( use pistols or Sandman/Wrap Assassin to deal damage without getting shot as much) to reach maximum boost which is 2 times faster than the Scout's regualar running speed. This is very useful for escaping and getting to objectives faster. The BFB is the most accurate shotgun the Scout can have and has the same reload speed as the Scattergun. However it is the least powerful shotgun due to 30% damage penalty and jumping resets the boost. But it only takes 99 damage to get maximum boost so its not so bad. Combine this with a Bonk Atomic Punch and you have an invincible, lightning speed machine.

Soda Popper
The Soda Popper has similar traits to the Force a Nature. Same firing speed, same ammo and same clip size. But they have one thing that sets them apart. The FaN has its powerful knockback and the Soda Popper has its powerful ability to mini crit enemies. How do you set of mini-crits? YOU RUN AROUND. A hype meter appears in the corner (like the BFB) and fills when you have the Soda Popper equipped. This weapon is a good way to clear targets faster than other Scout weapons but only seems to be any use when you have mini-crits. Also when you gain mini-crits, your secondary and melee weapon get them too, not just the Soda Popper. The reload time is slow so be careful when in combat. Side it with Mad Milk to do good damage and restore lost health to you and your team.
My favorite Scout primaries
This is my opinion so I don't care if you don't like the list. Also feel free to post your favorite Scout primaries in comments.

5. The Baby Face's Blaster
Reasons: A) I don't like the jumping boost reset idea. The Scout evades death by running and jumping everywhere and jumping resets the boost so you can die if you're not careful. B) The damage penalty doesn't bother me much but it's a pain when you die shooting someone who has at least 50hp left thinking that you should use something else for killing. The speed boost and accuracy is good but I'll rather have damage increase and to jump without slowing down. Also the problem with the high speed is that since the accuracy is tighter, I always seem to miss more. If play with this more, then I may put this higher.

4. Force a Nature
Reasons: A) The knockback. It can save you and can be funny how far a Heavy can fly but you can fall to your death if you not careful. Also annoys me when I get pushed off a cliff by a Force a Nature.

2. (Yes it's a tie). The Shortstop/ Soda Popper
Reasons: A) The Shortstop is useful at long range like i said in "Meet the weapons" and i combine it with Crit a Cola a is a powerful combo. It's also the best weapon to chase someone with as yo can keep doing solid damage and you could run into trouble using the closer range weapons.
A) The Soda Popper is basically a FaN with no knockback and has Crit a Cola with a faster recharge. The Pistol is a Shortstop with more ammo and not a primary weapon. A mini-crit Pistol does 20 damage per shot which is amazing when it can kill 8/9 classes. Basically the Shortstop finishes enemies better than the Pistol does whilst the Soda Popper wipes the floor with enemies.

1. Scattergun
Reasons: A) The fact is it has no cons is a good thing to a lot of players but no pros either. A lot of people underestimate this weapon because of that fact. I use it because it has a fast reload time, a good damage output and the best clip size ( also because i have a strange Scattergun). It doesn't really need combos to be a good weapon. This can fit in with any loadout. It works well with all secondaries and melees (execpt for Sun on a Stick. No-one likes that weapon).
