PK01 & PK02 - PhilipK SciFi Texture Packs

Description
These are the famous sci fi texture sets made by the amazingly talented Philip Klevestav (www.philipk.net). 100% unmodified originals. I am uploading these to the workshop as a courtesy for the gmod community.

Right now there are hundreds of maps using these exact textures. Every single map either packs these textures into the bsp or uploads them as part of ‘map content packs’. This means there is a unique copy of these textures for every map that uses them. This also means the player has to DOWNLAOD a copy of these textures for every map. This addon will fix that problem. Using this addon means players only need this ONE copy of the content on their hard drive. This will also mean mappers no longer need to pack these in with their maps, giving them more space to include real unique content. I have done this already for private assets. All rp_hogwarts_sbs versions rely on a workshop addon. That is 2 or more versions of the map that all point to the exact same content! No matter what version of the map is being used only one copy of the assets is ever downloaded to a players computer.

I plan to release maps in the future that will rely on these pk textures and I cannot in good faith repack them into my maps like so many others have done. I myself am guilty of this, rp_vanqor_sbs uses some of these PK textures and they are packed.

To use these textures in hammer download them from :
http://www.philipk.net/portfolio/textures/pk01_source.zip
and/or
http://www.philipk.net/portfolio/textures/pk02_source.zip

extract, and place them in your mod’s materials folder, you should now see them in hammer.
If you need to modify a texture for some reason It can be done safely without disturbing the original content. Simply copy the vmt of the material you wish to change, and place it into your own new folder with a new unique name, separate from the PK folders. You can then modify your new unique vmt to fit your needs. vmt’s are very small and allow you to have full control over the material without having to pack vtf’s at all!

To give an example, say I use a pk texture on a model I have made. I simply copy the texture’s vmt to the model's material folder, give it a new name, change the vmt to a vertexlitgeneric, and comment out the bumpmap and envmap parameters since they will not be used.(just for this example obv) Now my model has a texture and I only need to pack a 1kb vmt file since the basetexture still points to the original pk vtf!

Just to be clear I DID NOT MAKE THESE TEXTURES ! They are licensed under CC BY 3.0 and anyone is free to distribute these as long as they give PhilipK credit.
