Stronger Barkeepers

Description
This mod gives a slight stat boost and adds some minor gear upgrades to our local barkeeps. Most barkeeps aren't equipped well enough to handle the trains of bandits we like to pull into their establishments. I've noticed the barkeeps often get killed or KO'd, preventing us from selling all that early game phat loot we scavenged off the bodies. There are mods out there that replace the lost barkeep, but I wanted to give them a little more help to keep them up. I recommend you do not steal their medical supplies as they may need them later.

I've created a custom STAT item and assigned it to most of the barkeeps across the world which will give them slightly higher attributes, medic skills, and weapon skills. I also gave the unarmed barkeeps a weapon and added or changed the clothing to others. Nothing crazy, but they look better and all have a weapon to keep the rowdy patrons in line. You will notice some matching gear sets or clothing items common to their region.

This shouldn't be OP. I have still lost the barkeep in The Hub due to a really big pull of DB's with an extended slot mod installed. LOL, oops... Sorry man...., hold my beer.

whatever did happen the mod did what I needed it to do as it's still in my mod list I have to redo and why I stopped playing in the first place about a year or two ago

I'm sorry I could not tell you as this comment was made years ago but I do remember using a mod that altered the worlds difficulty. "depraved difficulty modded" I can't give any more relevant data as I simply do not remember.

@ ScumWeed & @Arack Babara - I just loaded up a new game with just this mod installed and the Toughness was in the 20's. Do you have other mod(s) that changes NPC's stats in your load order? Can you try to put this mod near the end of your load order and check again? You may need an import too.

Well, as mentioned earlier, barkeepers still have -1 toughness...

Barkeeper's now have a decent weapon and states(in my version anyway "depraved difficulty modded", really thou if I were a barkeeper I'd just let the guards deal with stuff and hide when they failed.

@War Machine and @Seven

I have updated this mod with a custom STAT setting that matches the vanilla "20" stat settings, but changes the toughness2 setting to 20 per your suggestion. I also gave the barkeeps a 20 in medic to help patch themselves up (or others) after a beating. This mod no longer has a modified vanilla "20" stat setting as I realized this would also change other NPC's in the game that use it and exceed the scope of this mod.

I have not played or modded Kenshi for a couple of years so I ask for additional feedback if this is to OP. I have not tested it nor do I have plans to test it in the near future. I updated this mod in response to a valid request by two members of the Kenshi community.

I apologize for the late update and hope these changes prove to be adequate.

@War Machine This is very late, but this issue isn't necessarily the product of this mod. In vanilla, the stat block "20" has the Toughness stat at 1. The usage of the 20 stat block is the same as vanilla, but your solution is correct.

One thing to say to improve this mod... I noticed barkeepers toughness is frequently around 1 (sometimes even in the negative). This is because you gave them all the Stat labeled "20", which gives most basic stats up to 20, except it brings toughness (the most important stat to make sure your barkeeper doesn't keep dying) down to 1. You could fix this simply by going to Characters-> Stats-> 20-> toughness2-> set to 20 instead of 1. Or I think just by removing the "20" stat, it would set the combat stats all to your original setting of 15 +/- 5.

If only those lazy mercenary guild dungheaps would get up and help the kill bandits that are harassing their watering hole. But no: that's combat, and if they did that, they'd have to charge somebody.
