Experimental Water Rendering. Thoughts?

"To create this animation, I first rendered water waves in a 3d engine. Then I pixelized and edited those waves in Photoshop and then Aseprite. The top half of the piece was drawn in Aseprite like any normal pixel art image.

What do you think of this style? The piece itself lacks some cohesiveness, but I'm interested to know what you think about the water effect and whether it can be used for traditional pixel art compositions."

Ooh, nice work! It's almost unsettling how realistic the ripples are; they really command all the attention here. It's still a very cool technique and would be a fun addition to pixel art works. The angle of the render would have to match the intended angle of the pixel composition, though.
