How to disable intro videos
You probably do not want to watch the intro Ubisoft logo and warnings over and over again. Follow these easy steps to disable these videos:

First, navigate to this path using the file explorer:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Assassin's Creed III Remastered\videos

Use "Program Files" instead of "Program Files (x86)" on x86 systems.

Here, you want to delete ubi_logo.bik. Next, find a folder with the language you are using (in my case it's en).

Delete epilepsy_warning.bik and warning_disclaimer.bik. Alternatively, you can delete all the .bik files, just to be sure.

From now on, your game will start much quicker.
Using custom resolution scaling
I was really looking forward to resolution scaling in the remaster. I only have a 2560x1440 monitor, but I sometimes like to use higher resolution instead of antialiasing (which tends to make things blurrier).

For some odd reason, the ingame graphics menu does not allow setting the resolution scaling to more than 100 % (current resolution). It only allows it to go below that (down to 50 %).

Fortunately, it is possible to modify it yourself.

First, go to:

C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\Assassin's Creed III Remaster

and open a file called Assassin3Remaster.ini in your Notepad.

In this file, look for ResolutionModifier option and set it to your desired value. So, for example if you want 200 % resolution scaling, you'd set it to:

ResolutionModifier=200.00000

Just save the file and next time you run AC3 Remastered, the game will be rendered at your desired resolution (so, in this case, it will have twice the resolution).

Hopefully, Ubisoft will patch this option, so you can actually change it ingame instead of modifying config files, but hey, that's the beauty of PC gaming, right?

I think deleting all the .bik files is probably a bad idea. Here's the list, after removing the two you mention:

AC3_DLCA_IntroVideo.bik
AC3_DLCA_TruthVideo.bik
AC3_DLCB_IntroVideo.bik
AC3_DLCB_TruthVideo.bik
AC3_DLCC_EndVideo.bik
AC3_DLCC_IntroVideo.bik
AC3_DLCC_TruthVideo.bik
AC3_End.bik
HealthyEarth_long3.bik
previouslyon.bik
ps3_chooselanguage_rpch.bik
ps3_hddbackground_install.bik
ps3_hddicone_install.bik
ps3_hddloadingtext.bik
sp_loadexec.bik
SQ07_M05_Spyglass.bik
ubi_logo.bik

Of these,
ubi_logo
can obviously go.
AC3_End
and the various AC3_DLC*TruthVideo should definitely stay, and the IntroVideo ones should probably also stay, as should
previouslyon
. The rest IDK, other than chooselanguage probably being important if you're not playing in English, but if you're not in English these probably aren't even the videos you want to remove - there's subfolders for various language codes with copies of most of these.

@N7Andy: where's that guide for improved shadows?

I am impressed. This game is actually quite well optimised, I am running Native 4K, and with 200% Resolution Scaling... that is 8K forced, basically. Constant 60 fps, sometimes dropping down to low 50s in the dense forests, and that's on a Titan RTX. 8K at "almost always" 60 frames per second is mind blowing. Coupled with G-Sync which still makes it pretty smooth and responsive, and HDR, this game's graphics just POP. I'm actually loving the remaster, I know it got a lot of hate originally, but it is truly fantastic if you have the hardware to push it. Also there's a guide here on Steam for improved Shadows as well, also an .ini tweak :)

I'm glad it was helpful. I have 1070 too and running at 4K with 60 fps everywhere unless I was in a dense forest with lots of trees, then it went down to around 50.

Thank you! Running locked 60fps at 200% (4K) on my GTX1070. Infact the framerate only starts to take a hit when i'm running at around 300-400% but not by much (into the 50's during cutscenes, mostly 60fps in-game)
