Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. E (Sd.Kfz. 141)

The first production model of the Panzer III, after the four initial prototype models. The E variant introduced the definitive torsion bar suspension for the series, alongside thicker overall armor and a better engine, setting the stage for future variants. They participated in combat in Poland, Holland, Belgium and France, before being upgraded with higher caliber guns in time to see combat in North Africa and Russia.
