Invisible Hollows - All the locations
By Ⱇⱃⰰⱀ iliti Вран and 1 collaborators
This is a guide detailing the locations of all the invisible hollows found throughout Drangleic. Before we get into the matter, we would like to point out that it is yet to be confirmed, whether we missed any. It is also important to note that they were introduced in Scholar of the First Sin, therefore this guide has no use in standard Dark Souls II.

Special thanks to Soft & Comfy for creating the guide and finding all the enemies with me, translating it into German and also publishing a video in addition.

Before I jump into listing the hollows per location, I would like to give you some tips for how to find the hollows:
  • Make sure your "shadow quality" is turned on, as you will not be able to see hollows' shadow otherwise
  • Use a torch whenever possible, to easily spot the shadowy outlines of an undead sitting on the floor
  • Use the Ring of Whispers, you will hear them when you're close
  • Stay close to the walls. If you seem to be "stuck" or "running on spot", there might be a hollow blocking your way
  • Using butterfly set will reveal their location, as the poison spray affects them, too and reveals their outlines
  • A single hit is all it takes to kill the hollow. Guard break, however, does not deal damage, neither will it make them visible
  • The miracle Soul Appease is a great spell to reveal their location, due to its wide range and high damage to undead enemies
  • Using Unveil will not show their location due to the fact they are neutral enemies, which can't even be locked on
  • They don't respawn, unless you use a Bonfire Ascetic (tested in a few areas)
Now that the introduction is done, let's get into the hollows and their locations. We will advance through the areas as shown in the fast travel menu when using a bonfire.

Introduction
Another thing beforehand - we would like to give you some more tips on how to find the hollows:
  • Make sure your "shadow quality" is on, as you will not be able to see hollows' shadows otherwise
  • Use a torch whenever possible, you will notice there's a shadow with no body on the ground in a sitting position
  • Use a Ring of Whispers and you will hear them when you're close
  • Run near the walls. If you seem to be "stuck" or "running on the spot", there might be a hollow blocking your way
  • Using the butterfly set will reveal their location since you'll get the poison-effect on them, which is visible
  • A single hit is all it takes to kill the hollow. Guard break, however, will not kill them and neither will it reveal their location
  • Using Soul Appease is a great spell to reveal their location since it has a wide range and deals damage to hollows
  • Using Unveil will not show their location due to the fact they are neutral enemies which can't be locked on either
  • They don't respawn, unless you use bonfire ascetic (Tested in a few areas)
  • Invaders of all kinds, including blue, dragon and red, are able to kill the invisible hollows, too
Now that the introduction is done, let's go on with the hollows and their locations. I will list areas as one would usually progress through the game.
Drops
Invisible hollows drop one out of two possible items: either a common smooth & silky stone or, rarely, a petrified something. These drops are completely random. So, if you really want to get the petrified something from these guys, you might want to raise your maximum item discovery by equipping the following:
  • Symbol of Avarice
  • Prisoner's Tatters
  • Watchdragon Parma (it doesn't matter if you two-hand your main-hand weapon, so long as the shield is on your back)
  • Golden Covetous Serpent Ring +2
  • Rusted Coin

Forest of Fallen Giants

The first hollow can be found as early as Forest of Fallen Giants. The location where you can find this invisible hollow is as follows:

1. Reach the second bonfire Cardinal Tower. In case you already opened the shortcut by destroying the explosive barrels on the wall's other side, you may as well take it, since it's faster to go that way. Otherwise, descend the ladder and make your way around to the other side.

2. Follow the same route you'd take as if you were after the Last Giant, prior to opening the gate, until you come to a courtyard-like opening stacked with explosive barrels and where the hollow soldiers throw firebombs from above. This path also leads to the Pursuer and to the giant tree.

3. Turn right, towards the giant tree leading into the Memory of Vammar. Before you approach, climb up the ladder on the right and follow the path into the building above, until you reach a sconce at the very end. If it is already lit as you approach, just check the right-hand wall for a shadow.
No Man's Wharf

The second hollow is found outside a building across the Pharros' Contraption that allows you to light the area up. He is next to the building's outer wall on your left hand, near the corner.

1. Start from the bonfire and proceed through the area, following the regular route.

2. Once you cross the bridges at the start and reach the long pair of stairs, take the first turn right. The two carriages blocking the way will tell you whether you took the correct path.

Optional: I highly recommend using the Pharros' Lockstone, to turn on the light in the area. This will, however, also enable ranged enemies to hit you with arrows from afar.

3. Go to the building's outer wall, basically the opposite of Pharros' Contraption. Look at the doors, and from there, look at the building's outer left corner. There, the invisible hollow is sitting on the ground. It may be difficult to see its shadow, but you can easily see the guy is actually blocking your way to progress through the path which means - hit it.

Lost Bastille

Lost Bastille has two invisible hollows. To reach the first one, go this route:

1. Start from the Tower Apart bonfire, leave the room and follow the path heading left.

2. Proceed to the open platform with the gap, where the Pursuer would spawn. This area also has a chest containing a Fragnant Branch of Yore - I highly recommend you actually kill The Pursuer before going after the invisible hollow.

3. Go to the far end of the platform, to the left of the chest and onto an accessible pile of rubble. If you approach with a torch, you will see the hollow sitting on the rubble.

To reach the second one, go this way:

1. Start from Straid's Cell bonfire. Make sure you have the Bastille Key.

2. Open the cell next to the bonfire and check the right-most corner opposite of the entrance. Find the hollow there.

Sinner's Rise

There is a single invisible hollow inside of Sinner's Rise.

1. Going from the bonfire, follow the usual path, all the way to the elevator.

2. As soon as arrive downstairs, head through the water, until you see a staircase to your left. Enter the first room, once you ascended the staircase.

3.The invisible hollow is in the left corner, next to the door.

Huntsman's Copse

There is a single hollow in Huntsman's Copse, found in the first building you'll find yourself in.

1. Start from the first bonfire, until you get into the first building up on a hill to your right or start from the second bonfire and cross the tree stump, then immediately head left. Also, you can shoot the wooden bars on the windows to allow more light inside.

2. Look at the sconce near the giant hole in the middle of the room.

3. Voila!

Shaded Woods

There is a single hollow in the area:

1. Start from the second bonfire in the Shaded Woods, Ruined Fork Road.

2. From there, take the middle path, the one leading to Aldia's Keep.

3. Keep on going all the way to King's gate, where a Syan's Knight is standing guard. In order to find the invisible hollow, you will not need the King's Ring, as he is sitting in the left corner outside the gate. If you are backtracking, you may have accidentally killed this hollow already, as it's not that hard to miss him while fighting the knight.
Doors of Pharros

Yet again, a single hollow resides in this area:

1. Start from the first bonfire / from the enterance to the area. Do not enter the rat's mouth.

2. Instead, walk up the steps and follow the path towards Gavlan's final location.

3. Proceed, as if you were going for the Royal Army Campsite bonfire in Brightstone Cove Tseldora.

4. Once you reach the waterfall, where the small crystal lizard is, turn right. There is a Gyrm sitting next to a sconce. Kill the Gyrm and go behind the sconce. There is a hollow sitting nearby, as shown in the screenshot.
The Gutter
The Gutter has 5 invisible hollows in total.

Hollow 1 and 2:

1. Starting from the first bonfire of the area, head right into the area, straight ahead.

2. Cross the first bridge, turn right and cross the second bridge.

3. On the platform adjacent to the second bridge, look towards the wall on your right, towards the wooden pathway leading back to the bonfire. One invisible hollow is sat next to the sconce there. This is where you can either make a jump, or follow onwards and complete the area, to find the next hollow nearby.

4. If you decide not to jump across, jump off the platform with the hanging statue instead, onto the platform with the puddles below.

5. From there, head left to the wooden structure containing rupturing hollows, a mimic chest and a ladder leading up to another chest, which is also your only way out. Climb up the ladder and walk to the other side of the platform, to another sconce. Next to it is an invisible hollow.

6. In case you did not jump across prior, don't forget to kill the aforementioned hollow in your way back to the bonfire.

Hollow 1

Hollow 2

Hollow 3:

1. Start from the first bonfire, once again.

2. Go the usual route, until you get to crossing where a swollen morgel (big bloated dog) is.

3. This time, turn left. Do not climb the ladder, but instead go underneath the platform, where a sconce is. The hollow is sitting next to it.

Hollow 3

Hollow 4:

1. Start from the second bonfire in the area.

2. Enter the building next to the bonfire, do not climb down any ladders. Exit on the other side, where the fog gate is (or was). Stop right outside. Turn right around 180°. Directly next to the "doorframe". Mind the rupturing hollow coming your way.

Hollow 4

Hollow 5:

1. Start from the second bonfire again and enter the building.

3. Once you get back inside, go down the first ladder leading you dowstairs, the one with the statue marking them.

4. At the bottom of the ladder, drop down onto the platform with no ladders leading back upstairs. From there, the hollow is near another sconce.

Hollow 5
Drangleic Castle
Drangleic Castle is home to three invisible hollows.

Hollow 1:

1. Make your way to the main gate leading into Drangleic Castle. If you are approaching from outside, kill the enemies close to the two giant statues, in order to open the door. For the first hollow, you need not enter yet.

2. Stay outside the main entrance and, when facing towards Chancellor Wellager, head left, around the building. Follow the outer wall, until you find some sort of narrow pathway leading down on the building's outside. This is a dead end, where the Royal Soldiers spawn, but of no interest to us.

3. Make your way past and search the corners of the wall. In one, you will find another invisible hollow.

Hollow 1, lit up like a christmas tree

Hollow 2:

1. Enter the castle via the main entrance or return from the first bonfire and enter the corridor underneath the throne room / behind the entrance hall. The corridor holds four petrified Syan's Knights, which will awaken upon your approach.

2. Defeat them and open the door at the righthand / far end of the corridor. Inside, you will find a chest containing Sublime Bone Dust. The hollow is sitting to your right, once you enter. Right in the corner.

Hollow 2

Hollow 3:

1. After killing Twin Dragonriders, advance through the adjacent area and activate the elevator by killing an enemy within the giant statue's proximity.

2. Take the elevator upstairs, to the top of the tower and check behind the imprisoned Milfanito's cage.

Hollow 3
Shrine of Amana
Only two hollows are in the Shrine of Amana.

Hollow 1:

1. Start from the Crumbled Ruins bonfire.

2. Head outside and walk around the building, towards the short side without an opening, also facing the nearest spellcaster. Stay close to the wall. Once you bump into something, you've found what you were looking for.

3. Beware of all the sorcerers trying to kill the living sh*t out of you with their ranged attacks.

Hollow 1

Hollow 2:

1. Go from the third bonfire, Rhoy's Respite.

2. Progress through the flooded area and head towards the boss arena.

3. Before entering the final building leading to the boss, stay outside. Turn right instead, towards the ledge. The hollow is living on the edge there. Bring a torch, so you don't fall to your death!

Hollow 2
Undead Crypt
The Undead Crypt is home to a variety of hollows. Thirteen in total, but do not be alarmed. We will guide you through.

Hollow 1:
1. Starting from the first bonfire, go to the left.

2. Once you go below the stairs, check the right side of the wall. Veterans will remember this to be the original place, where the bonfire was, back in the early days of Dark Souls II.

Hollow 1

Hollow 2:

1. Head up the staircase, into the crypt. Pass the two Syan's Knights and the guardian blocking the entrance to the next part, with all the hollows and Leydia Witches.

2. Search the pile of rubble on the left, in the first half of the room and find the second hollow there.

Hollow 2

Hollow 3:

1. Exit the room and head towards Gravewarden Agdayne. Before you ascend the steps, check the bottom right corner, below the stairs.

Hollow 3

Hollow 4:

1. Visit Agdayne. Heed his warning and do not produce light, else he and his friends will become hostile towards you.

2. The fourth hollow here is sitting to his left, leaned against the wall.

Hollow 4

Hollow 5:

1. Enter the main hall with the bridge and the unlit sconce spawning a red phantom upon lighting.

2. Do not cross the bridge yet, but walk straight ahead, to where the ladder is leading up to the ledge above. Jump down head underneath the bridge. The hollow is sitting on the floor there.

Hollow 5

Hollow 6:

1. Start from the second bonfire and make your way through to the empty room containing an illusory wall on the short, right-hand end and several wall ghosts. The Nameless Usurper also invades here.

2. Face the exit leading into the adjacent corridor. To the opening's right is a ghost, to the left is an invisible hollow.

Hollow 6

Hollow 7 and 8:

1. After two Imperius Knights, check the room with the hole in the middle.

2. Don't jump down, instead, check the wall behind. There are two hollows, one on the left and one on the right side.

Hollow 7 and 8

Hollow 9:

1. Start from the second bonfire or jump down into the hole and exit the dark area with all the graves.

2. Head back outside into the main hall. Optional: interact with the lever to open the shortcut to the bonfire. Turn around and head into the final hallway leading up to the boss arena.

3. In this room are five hollows. First off, kill the undead underneath the staircase, to prevent it from ringing the bell. There will be a second undead coming in to take over the task from outside. After that, a third will climb out of the dirt right next to the bell. Stop them from making your life unnecessarily difficult and be careful not to hit the bell yourself.

4. Since you are here already, there is an invisible hollow in the small shelter with you.

Hollow 9

Hollow 10-13:

1. In this case, we strongly recommend to clear the area beforehand. Once that is done, check around the pillars. To assist you further, we would like to refer to the video guide for a visual representation of the exact locations.

2. There are two on each side. These are the ones on the left, facing the boss arena.

Hollow 10 is behind the sixth pillar on the left, starting from the entrance.

Hollow 11 is between the third and fourth pillar, same side but starting from the boss room.

3. These are the ones on the right.

Hollow 12 is sitting near the second pillar on the right, starting from the staircase.

Hollow 13 is sitting behind the last pillar on the right.
Aldia's Keep
The final two hollows can be found in Aldia's Keep.

Hollow 1:

1. Start from the first bonfire and enter the building.

2. Traverse the entrance hall and head upstairs, towards the Basilisk.

3. Enter the doorway behind it leading into the next corridor. Next to the dragon statue with the mechanism to open the doors, on the wall to the left, when facing forwards, is another hollow.

Hollow 2:

1. Start from the second bonfire and make your way through the area.

2. Walk all the way to the end, through the boss room, and towards the elevator leading up to the Dragon Aerie. Instead of taking the elevator, check the right side of the balcony next to it.

3. Find the final hollow there and praise the sun!

Hollow 2
Closing notes
If our counter isn't off, there's 33 invisible hollows ingame.

Thank you for reading our guide. We do hope to have proven helpful in your conquest to find them all. Make sure you trade the drops in with the two crows in Things Betwixt, to get something of value in return for your efforts.

Until then, happy hunting, happy playing hide and seek with the invisible friends and praise the sun!

I had no clue other invis guys existed. I thought it was just one behind the Milfanito's cage and a few before Veldstat. I had read somewhere that they were spys for Nashandra but having so many scattered around Drangleic is somewhat frightening. I'll have to poke a few next time I'm near one.

@SoulToSqueeze It's be theorized that they may have been put in the game as part of some other feature/quest, which was later dropped sometime during the games development. They just left them in the game as a variant free item drop.
