Best weapons and armor for The Witcher game

This is a guide for the best 2 weapons in game and the armor.
The reason you should try to have them is because you can import this items in Witcher 2.

Moonblade : the silver sword

You get this sword from Royal huntsman, after you bring him 10 trophy monster heads.
You will have 2 monsters for each chapter, make sure to give the heads on the specific chapter.

Reminder : You can't have more then one head on yourself, so make sure you give it to the quest giver before you go after the other one.

Chapter 1

Royal huntsman- you can find him past the first two abandoned huts west of the Outskirts Inn to give the heads.

Nadir - you find him near the old mill, make sure is night when you attack and you don't have the quest Strangers in the Night. If you have it you must finish it because he will not spawn.

Ozzrel- you find him in the crypt. After you finish the quest from Mikul, you go back in the crypts again and you will see that the rocks that block the way is removed and you can go and find the creature.

Chapter 2

Vincent Meis - he is the person that you must give the heads, you can find him outside the dungeon near the Gate to the Trade Quarter.

A greater cockatrice - in the sewers of the Temple Quarter, you will get this quest at the begining of the chapter, make sure to take the head from the corpse.

Coccacidium - usually spawns in a few places like north of the Brickmakers' quarry; , near Gramps' cottage; etc. You can find him easy since you have allot of quest in this zone. Just make sure you check the name of the creature in case you want to run away from it.

Chapter 3

Royal huntsman- you will give him the heads, he is outside the cemetery gate in the Trade Quarter (just south of the guardhouse's upper floor)

Voref - can be found wandering around the eastern part of the Golem burial ground, and the area west or the collapsed tower, just south of Wyvern Island in the Swamp.

Moa- can be found in Wyvern Island in the Swamp

Chapter 4

Tobias Hoffman- he is the person to give the heads, you can find him at the mayor house.

Teyu- can be found in the small pond in the Fields.

Ureus- can be found in the crypt in the Fields behind a wall.

Chapter 5

Royal huntsman- can be found in the druid's cave.

Vesper can be found near the Striga's crypt on Cemetery Island in the swamp cemetery

Lilly is found near the Circle of Mute Thunder in the swamp cemetery.

G'valchir: the steel sword

You have 3 ways of getting this sword.

1. You can get it from the Royal Hutsman for bringing 10 heads but i suggest you to not do this since you will lose the silver sword.

2. You can kill the captain Jean-Pierre and he will drop the sword. In order to get this sword you must get the quest Mud and Velvet and tell him that you keep the money for yourself and you must kill him. Make sure to not give the money to the cousins since he will not drop the sword.

3. You can get it from the quest Won't Hurt a Bit. You must bring teeth to the dwarf dentist. This are the teeth you must bring him

a. The Beast's Teeth
b. Barghest Teeth
c. The Jaw
d. Fleder Fangs
e. Devourer Teeth
f. Alp Fangs
g. The Beast's Teeth
h. The Boxer's Tooth - in order to get this you must win all the Fistfight that starts from chapter I and ends in chapter 5

Raven's armor

There are three variations on Raven's armor, depending on the path Geralt has chosen.

Basic components :

Piece of armor- found in the crypt by the lakeside when you first meet Berengar.

The notes of an elven minstrel - found in a sarcophagus in the Striga's crypt on the island in the swamp cemetery

Remains of Raven's Armor - in Raven's sarcophagus in Raven's crypt

Depending on which side you are you must bring this item, in order to complete the armor :

Elves side : A bifunctional fiber and alloy recirculator, in a dwarven trunk, in the ancient crypt beneath the old mine in the swamp cemetery

Order side : Saint Gregory's litany, in a sarcophagus in the ancient crypt connected to the striga's crypt

Neutral side : made by Kalkstein .You need a magic formula it is found in Agnes of Glanville's trunk in her lair

I messed up big time... I did not know the Outskirts Crypt changed after that mission for Mikul... I am half-way through Chapter-2 and REALLY don't want to start over all those quests again. Guess I'll have to miss out on moonblade... (such a poor game decision to not let players go back for a missed trophy hunt though... typical Bioware tho.)

And yes aerondight is the best silver sword but you lose it at the start of Witcher 2 and its not worth getting it, as you will lose moonblade, you will be able to get aerondight again later in Witcher 2 if i remember correctly

Im a little bit late, but the best way to get both of the swords is, get all the tooth from the fist fighting boxers, and get moonblade by killing all monsters, and if you ask me for the armor i would side with the elves, if its your first playthrough.

Second of the Beast teeth should be beast fangs which can drop from "dogs, wolves, barghests, mutants, skullheads and armored hounds" according to wiki, which also lists The Beast's teeth twice. I usually save the fangs from the first armored hound that drops them.

How necessary are these for Witcher 2?

It seems I have the lesser quality swords,
and I missed handing in the quest for Ravens armour as it moved me onto the next chapter too quickly, where I thought it was taking me back to the blacksmith.

Wondering if I should import my current, or use someone else's save

Just a side note, as stated by the wiki: A barghest's skull is not needed to complete the quest "Won't hurt a bit".
