WoW Classic: Demon Fall Canyon

This canyon in southeastern Ashenvale is the site of a major turn in orcish history, and the fall of one of its greatest heroes.

Orcs invaded Azeroth under the corrupted influence of the Burning Legion. Mannoroth, the demonic Pit Lord and second in command to Archimonde, offered his blood to the orc chieftains in Draenor, inflicting them with a blood curse that corrupted them and bound them to the will of Kil'jaeden. Driven into a frenzy, the orcs went through the Dark Portal and attacked Azeroth. The forces of the Alliance defended their homeland, but not without heavy losses. When the Horde was defeated, the orcs went lethargic from withdrawal from the fel blood. Thrall freed the orcs and became the new Warchief, and led the Horde in an exodus to Kalimdor. Along the way, he became friends with an old war hero from the Warsong Clan, Grom Hellscream. The orcs eventually found their way into the forests of Ashenvale. Mannoroth corrupted a Fountain of Life with his blood, turning it into a Chaos Well, leaving the Demigod of Nature Cenarius wary. Thinking the orcs a scouting force for the Burning Legion, Cenarius and the night elves hunted the orcs down. Cornered, Grom found the Chaos Well and partook of it, becoming once again a minion of the Burning Legion. Grom Hellscream's new chaotic form empowered him to defeat Cenarius, but he was enslaved once again. Thrall found his old friend and was appalled to find out what had happened. He trapped Grom in a soul gem and broke him free from the blood curse with a ritual circle. Together, they decided to face Mannoroth to free the orcs from the threat of enslavement once and for all. Grom raised his axe, Gorehowl, and drove it into the pit lord's chest. The demon exploded in a burst of hellfire... and all that remained was his broken glaive. Grom held said a few parting words before he succumbed to his wounds.

"Thrall... the blood haze has lifted... the demon's fire has burnt out in my veins... I... have... freed... myself..."

"No, old friend... you've freed us all."

Recorded in World of Warcraft at 30 FPS and optimized to keep filesize reasonably low.
