@eddmaund - no mods required, the sloped triangle pieces in game have the ability to point up or down, I just finished making a sloped roof like that last night and I only have vanilla. In fact, on more than one occasion I've accidentally made them point downwards when not meaning to and had to pick them up and place them again.

This is not just "using S+". The game still has no upside-down triangles, therefore, that greenhouse and the bay window are not possible to make without mods. On top of that, the flat triangles we can use have no snap points once they're placed. Building in this game is frustrating at best.
