DPS Dummy Meter

Description
This is a mod to assist people in determining their DPS at the most basic 'Dummy' level.

With this you will know your single target Damage vs. an unarmored / no resist dummy. This DPS is broken down into Physical, Fire, Poison, Ice and Electrical.

*Note* First Time Users (and after an update) need to take a quick step outlined in the troubleshooting section to enable this mod.

How to Collect Data:
- Start Attacking the Dummy
- Before 1 minute is up put your mouse over the shield buff for the Dummy
- Take a Screen Shot (F12 for Steam)

How to get your DPS From that Data:
- The Health Buff is the starting point for the Absorbs (1 million)
- The duration is what is left from 60 seconds
- So if you see the following:

DUMMY DPS
- 1,000,000 points of Poison Damage Absorption
- 1,000,000 Health
- 750,000 points of Physical Damage Absorption
- 900,000 points of Fire Damage Absorption
- 1,000,000 points of Ice Damage Absorption
- 1,000,000 points of Electric Damage Absorption
35 Seconds Remaining

You did 250k Physical Damage and 100k Fire Damage in 25 Seconds.
That is 10k DPS Physical, 4k DPS Fire; for a total of 14k DPS

In this example, my level 9 necromancer did 31,271 Poison Damage (The physical damage was from that pesky Act 1 Guard!) in 41 seconds giving me 763 DPS.

Troubleshooting:
- Your Dummy should go into DPS mode after the first few hits.
- If it does not (* And for First Time Users / After an Update *), creating a Lan Game with the option Re-Roll World should fix this. This is necessary as your Dummy was created when you made your game. Re-Rolling the World will keep your current progress, but it will respawn everything. Once done, you can go back to your single player game with a new batch of monsters to kill and a Dummy that can tell you your DPS.
- Users of Synergies must load this above Synergies.

What did I change?
- I have modified the Target Dummy to have no armor/resists.
- In addition, on first hit the dummy will proc an absorb buff with a 60 second duration.
- This Absorb Buff is actually 5 absorb buffs (one for each damage type) and a Max Health Buff.
- I've set these initially at 1,000,000; through feedback this may or may not need to be increased for high end characters.

Items not directly related to using this mod:
- Anyone is welcome to modify / include this mod in their own work / compilations. I do ask that you post here letting me know so that I can add you to a list of mods that include this.
- Feel free to make requests, I may or may not be able to get to them.

I can crush that 1m cap in a single hit on some of my ultra-high end theory craft builds. It would help me tremendously if I could use a mod like this, could you add a version with maybe two orders of magnitude greater (100m) caps?

@sidson; I'm no longer active in development and I'm not sure what may have caused the tool tips to drop.

After my release, another modder released a similar addon for Dummy DPS. It uses a different method and enables a few more options. I would check this out (uninstall mine first) and see if that mod resolves your issue.

For some reason I can't seem to get the DPS details to show up. I try mousing over the shield icon for the dummy but no stats are shown. I also tried changing the load order for the mod and starting a new game with just this mod loaded but get the same results. Anyone else had this issue?

To be honest, I've used it more for comparing skills or weapons. Also when I'm not sure what 'type' of damage is coming out the other end.

this is a very intriguing and clever way to calculate DPS. props on you for thinking of it. I'd subscribe, but I'm not that interested in my DPS to do that much work, haha

With so many zeros now, just as a friendly reminder, the Health Buff is there to assist you in your math. It is the same amount as a full absorb, so you can use it to subtract from if you forget how big they are now.

I've uploaded a new version.
- Removed Stun Resistance
- Upped Absorbs to 100 Million Damage

Please provide feedback if the stuns make it not go into DPS mode enough to be annoying.

Got answer on first: hold the mousebutton and hover the shieldbuff. Sorry :D

2 things:
First: how to check the DPS? U said i should moseover the Shieldbuff, but how to get there? If im moving the mouse from the Dummy to the buff it vanished (because the mouse is not over the dummy, so no dummy tooltip).
Seond: 1 Mio s FAR to less. I can see the dummy to recast the buff eve 5-6secs. and my crits already do ~100-250k and im attacking REALLY fast (.38 and .44). So im dealing nearly 10mio dmg the minute.

Thank you for the feedback.

I'm game for upping the damage to 10 or 100 mil.

For stuns, I would like a little more feedback. The reason stuns are removed is if you lead with a stun then it sometimes won't enter into DPS mode until the stun wears off.

Do you think this is a good trade off? (Able to get stun dps items in like Coup vs a more reliable entry into DPS mode)
