How my Team fortress 2 looks like - After following each step of this tutorial
Step: 1
First we gonna download the tool we're going to use - http://gamebanana.com/tools/2250
Step: 2
Download the background you'd like to use for your Team fortress 2. Then resize it to your Tf2 resolution, use PicMonkey to Resize your background - http://www.picmonkey.com/

Q - How do i find out what Tf2 resolution i have?
A - Launch Tf2 > Options > Video > There you can see, i got - 1360 x 768

Step: 3
Now import your picture into VTFedit. After chosen the file, press "Ok" and let it load. Now click at "Save" It's the blue little icon. Save it as VTF file. Name it as Background_01

Step: 4
Now make 3 extra copies of that vtf file and change the names to, background_01_widescreen, title_blue and title_blue_widescreen
Now you got 4 of them in your Desktop.
Step: 5
Now do the same as step 4, but change the names to these.
  • background_01 (Used)
  • background_01_widescreen (used)
  • title_blue (used)
  • title_blue_widescreen (used)

  • background_02
  • background_02_widescreen
  • title_team
  • title_team_widescreen

  • title_team_fullmoon
  • title_team_fullmoon_widescreen
  • title_team_halloween2011
  • title_team_halloween2011_widescreen
  • title_team_halloween2012
  • title_halloween2012_widescreen

  • title_red
  • title_red_widescreen

  • background_xmas2011
  • background_xmas2011_widescreen

  • background_upward
  • background_upward_widescreen

  • background_mvm
  • background_mvm_widescreen

    • background_gravelpit
    • background_gravelpit_widescreen

  • background_2fort
  • background_2fort_widescreen
Step: 6
Now when you've done step 5, and got all the files in the Desktop. It should look like this:

Now place all your vtf files in steam\steamApps\common\team fortress 2\tf\custom\my_custom_stuff\materials\console (the 3 final files have to be created)

Also, copy all the files into another folder in your desktop. You might need it later. Do not remove the map, leave it there, it won't hurt. It's because, if you accidently mess it up in game. You can just remove the old files and paste the one you saved in the folder.
Step: 7
A rar file for removing the classes from the background, place the folder in the Console folder.

Done
