Also The Forest setup. One of my thematic gameplay modes is one where The Forest will only kill a player randomly. The traveler's deck has no role peek or destination peeks. And I believe there's more guns in the deck or something. Can't remember the exact details but basically it forces a lot more trust issues. And balance for 4-6 players basically just meant thinning the traveler's deck by a third and getting rid of a lot of extra peek cards so free information isn't so available.
I've been telling backers of the game that Forsaken Forest is extremely customizable and each game can play out very differently depending on not only your Roles, but your Travelers Deck set-up. This is living proof - it makes me so happy that you made it :)
I think this will become even more cool as I start to add expansions, too.
Thanks for that! I'm truly impressed by the power of the internet.

And a deck creation tool for Forsaken Forest I made https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1611099263 There's more unique decks than the screenshots show, all are in the game mod itself though. I've even thought of new cards to add to the game. I'd be happy to share them.
Granted, I'm not only a tabletop player, maybe those people like math. I'd rather let the computer handle that for me and have a more strategy minded gameplay. Elder Scrolls Legends has some refreshing card design and the game itself is mostly based on strategy rather than hard numbers (in comparison to Artifact which is just math).
I will be honest in that I didn't really put too much time into the Rules Primer, because it's so early and I don't know what will stick. That's part of the reason I put it out there - to see what people liked and didn't. I would love to hear what else was unclear - did you come here from reddit? That easier to communicate on. I'm going to check out Heavenfall.
I will definitely start fresh on this one, as I've kinda put it on the backburner for a little while, but I do think there is something here. You're right - too much math is really annoying and I'd like to fix that. Also, thematically, it does need improvement.
Also, I couldn't possibly compete with a dig. CCG at this point in time haha - so I don't blame you.
Forsaken Forest, while an entirely different game, nails its theme so very well in about every capacity. And it fixes a lot of issues I have with hidden role games. My honest suggestion for Forsaken Gods would be to start over. I'm aware its an older design and it certainly felt like it. Maybe I'm not the target audience but digital TCGs wipe the floor with Forsaken Gods by a lot.I'm reminded of a deck builder called Havenfall, it involved a lot of math on cards too. Cards + math is never good for tabletop in my opinion. Its why digital card games exploded in popularity, I think. They handle the math for you.
We didn't finish the game after being unable to determine what the rules were for stat buffs and I'm never a fan of bookkeeping when I've experienced digital TCGs. Overall I have little interest in approaching it again as I'd rather just play Elder Scrolls Legends.
