Clausewitz Class Superheavy Battleship

Germany in the 2020s and 2030s was a turbulent place. Several economic and political disasters and a closely averted civil war left the country in a disadvantageous place. The German Navy was neglected completely, only allowed to build small Submarines.

In 2040, The Honolulu Incident shook the World. The immediate and powerful aggression from the new Archipelago in the Pacific known as Neter prompted the creation of the United Coalition. It contained the Great Powers of the World such as the USA, Russia, China, Japan, Great Britain, France and Germany. Powers that normally despised each other, but that were forced to work together due to a common threat.

Immediately, the need for a large Capital Ship to go toe to toe with Neter's more powerful Battleships arose. Germany, Russia and Japan stepped forward with the Clausewitz, St. Petersburg and Kanto Programs respectively. Japan, however, dropped out of the competition soon after they entered, allegedly because their Idea was completely ludicrous (An engineer who worked on the Program claimed that they tried to make a Battleship fly, which was never confirmed nor denied).

Germany worked feverishly on the Clausewitz and her sister ship, the Stresemann, constantly on a tight schedule. They received support from the USA, Great Britain, France and even China, initially, though France dropped out to pursue their own Ideas. With working conditions bordering on the illegal, Germany managed to release the Clausewitz into the water a mere week before the Russians finished the St. Petersburg.

The Clausewitz was absolutely monstrous, with 400 meters length she was as large as some Aircraft Carriers. With her main armament of four 500mm triple automatic turrets, she could obliterate any opponent. She featured heavy armor and both the most powerful OMDS (Optical Munitions Defense System) ever developed by the UC as well as three 71mm Phalanx CIWS Batteries. She represented the Apex of UC, but especially German manufacturing, as no ship of her size would be built ever again.

Her Glory Days were during the Campaigns against the Onyx Watch, Steel Striders and, to a limited extent, the Twin Guard. Here she could act in her intended role, dueling entire OW or SS Fleets on her own. During the wars with the White Flayers, Lightning Hoods and Gray Talons, she was mostly kept in the back lines, as the UC was afraid of what kind of effect on morale the loss of the Clausewitz or Stresemann could have. Nevertheless, she remains one of the most impressive ships ever fielded by the United Coalition.
