B.A.C.K.R.O.N.Y.M.: PIXELS

Description
Bizarre Adventure Creation Kit: Rondo Of Nastily-Yclept Mods presents:
Perfect Initiation: Xenobiological Evisceration Lunging Strike (Project PIXELS),
which adds Clawed Convert, a Warrior Toolkit/Turbocharger skill based on:
1) Mobility,
2) Flattening monsters with gob-tons of melee damage (stack Melee Power for best results),
3) Racking up large kill combos (that give successively larger buffs that promote #2), and
4) Spooky Squid's game "They Bleed Pixels."

- Updated 3/9/14! Dashing Strike and Shrike's Passage now "completely different" and "probably less weird." Also, it's a Warrior skill now, because reasons.

Level 0: Dashing Strike. A "missile" that teleports you into an enemy's square and smacks them with your melee attack (and some bonus Slashing damage). The target "should" get knocked out of the tile afterward, unless you jumped on a blocker or into something with its back to the wall.
Level 1: Double Jump. Knightly Leap on a longer cooldown; temporarily buffs your Dodge stat on landing (to help with getting into trouble).
Level 2: Skyward Strike. Melee attack with bonus damage and a short but irresistable stun -- an excellent boss-killer.
Level 3: Combo Initiate. Allows the player to build up to a Rank 7 kill combo. Getting kills will raise the power of your current combo, hitting enemies will refresh the duration (and give you the most basic version of the combo if none is currently active).
Level 4: The Shrike's Passage. A variant Dashing Strike that costs MP, but has no cooldown. This one has higher bonus damage and a chance to ministun the target.
Level 5: Exploding Sole Technique. Point-blank knockback, followed by an explosion centered roughly where the knockback target should land. Excellent for roughing up an entire roomful of enemies.
Level 6: Combo Master. Allows the player to build the kill combo up to Rank 13.

One word: Options.

I think it's a matter of playing style and perspective -- if you're risk-averse, go ahead and use the utility skills for their utility and ignore the combo mechanic. If you're willing to take a risk and go in claws swinging, though, you're rewarded with both better offense (roughly +1 damage per combo rank, ignoring resists, plus some EDR) AND better defense (especially Magic Resist and Magic Reflect, but also Dodge, Counter, and a bit of regen later on).

Got a zoo with a convenient chokepoint? Start chewing, and the combos help you chew faster and more safely. Octos along the back wall? Dashing Strike to close the gap. Low on health and surrounded? Double Jump to relative safety, or go for a long Shrike's Passage out. And so on, and so forth. It's designed to give melee-focused characters more options (mobility to get both in AND out), and enhance the options they already had (hitting stuff).

(And yes, I probably did spend too long mulling that one over. Apologies.)

I don't quite understand this, the abilities seem to emphasize kiting and running away with their cooldowns, but you have these combo skills that try to punish that behavior (ineffectively). Seems a bit schizophrenic to combine the two as the player is likely to decide that he'd rather play it safe and kite with Skyward Strike than exploit the combos unless he really didn't have anything to worry about in the first place.

That's one of the best skill mods that I've seen, you used a very good theme. :)

I'm loving this skill set. It may be a bit on the strong side, particularly because of the mobility. I love that the 1st level skill can be used to go through bars and doors.
