F.E.A.R. 3 All Achievements Guide

In this guide I will explain my thought process on how I went about getting all achievements for this game.

Getting Started

As all games should be played for the fun and enjoyment for it, I would like to suggest that if you are
new to FPS games just start the game on commando difficulty and just have your first run through as point man enjoying the games scenery and challenges. If you are experienced and are smooth with your mouse and keyboard I say start the game on insane this will give you the complete game on insane achievement rite of the bat and will save you time.

Fettel

As you clear missions with point man you will see that you unlock the same mission but now playable with Paxton Fettel. I suggest finishing the whole game with point man before moving on to Fettel. The same applies here as what I said in the first chapter, finish the game as a normal play through don't go for achievements yet if you not comfortable. My main reason for making you wait before you attack the achievements is as you play your earn levels. As you level up you will become more equipped to take out the challenges without much effort.

Time To Attack

Once completed campaign with both brothers you would have unlocked many achievements already. At this point in time you should be level 21 if not you wont be far away. You should check out the achievement page and decide which achievements you think is best and easiest for you to take out as a player. What I did was find a partner I was compatible with and started to knock off all those achievements that require help.

Single Player & Multiplayer

It defnitly can be a bit much to keep running through the same game over and over to complete certain objectives. If you find yourself getting abit rundown why not try some multiplayer which can bring hours of fun. There are various achievements for multiplayer aswell so you will still be on the job.

Tips For Multiplayer

• Easiest achievements are the soul king ones, they can even be done alone in solo practise, except for the ones that require you to attain a certain score.
  
• I found the head crab removal achievement to be simple in soul king by just possessing a cultist with a crow bar rather than campaign.
  
• The contractions missions is what gave me the most trouble in this whole game so I suggest you leave it till the very end before you attempt Hanging 20 and Return 30 crates.
  
• All other achievements in multiplayer will come with time so there is nothing to worry about.

In the campaign there are some secret achievements that do not show up until you achieve them.


These are the scores you will require to earn your achievement at each interval. Another secret achievement is Yo, Adrian. To get this all you have to do is on interval 8, the first room where you destroy a memory, you will see a boxing ring look around and you will see a punching bag. Keep meeling the bag till the achievement pops.

Finishing Touches

As you invest more hours in the game you will see slowly your achievement count go up. A lot of the achievements in this game are not difficult but just merely require time and effort. There are however a few achievements that can be a bit more of a challenge especially if you not the exploration type. One of those challenges are to find the alma doll on every level. If you do not look thoroughly you can easily miss it in certain stages, I wont get into details on that as there is already a guide on where to find them. At this moment in time, you should be nearly there. A few things you should have to do is Completionist, Hanging 20 and returning of 30 crates. Through the whole game these are the ones I found most difficult. Completionist requires you to complete every challenge at least 1 time.



This can seem daunting at first but single them out one at a time and make it your primary goal to get that 1 challenge done every time you play. Another advantage you will have at this point is that you can pick who you want to play with and the interval to perfectly suit your needs for the challenge you desire to do. A few of the challenges does require you to have a partner. My best advice is always to get someone you click with and knock of those multiplayer challenges.

Contractions

Clearing wave 20 and returning 30 crates in 1 try is very hardcore. I recommend doing the crates 1st. The best way to do this if you do not have any friendly help is to go solo. The trick is to get it done as quick as possible. As you can only take 4 crates back in a wave it is only possible for you to get this done by wave 8. What you need to do is to leave 1 guy alive at the end of every wave and try your best to avoid him as you run and pick up crates till you at your 4 for the wave. You will need so luck and good judgement to not kill the last guy but if you stick to this process you should be fine.



Hanging 20 for me was the hardest thing in the whole game and took me close to 25 hours of gameplay before I actually pulled it off. It would make it so much easier to have 4 people with a good understanding to pull this off but if you are alone it is still possible for you to survive wave 1 to 20. What I did was in the level this is suicide, after wave 5 i ran up to the top floor and did not stop moving!!! Make sure to always repair boards and keep yourself secure. It is easier for you to shoot the enemies than it is for them to shoot you. wave 12, 15 and 17 upwards get crazy with the rocket launcher freaks attacking you from all sides, so you will want to shoot them before they fire at you. Keep barriers repaired, avoid rockets, choose the rite waepons and stay out of Alma's way!!! Do this and you will still need lady luck to be on your side to stand any chance of defeating Contractions!!!

The hidden achievements are not too brutal to get! Definitely helps to be at least level 16 though; the extra HP and bullet time is super helpful.
