Welcome to my guide!
Welcome to my guide for Chaos;Child! I don't know if any of you readers have played Steins;Gate, but it's pretty much like the phone mechanic (but with less middle clicking).
What's a delusion trigger?
Alright, so you've been playing C;C for awhile now, and every once in awhile, you've probably seen that cool graphic of your brain or something stroking out. That's a delusion trigger.

When you see one of those suckers, you've got three choices. By pressing Z on your keyboard, you'll pick the positive delusion. This'll typically be some generic harem anime cg, but it's a nice little reprieve from the atmosphere of the game.

However, by pressing C, you'll get a negative delusion. These aren't for the faint of heart, but yet again, you're the one who bought this game so you probably know what to expect, haha :c

Doing nothing lets you progress like usual through the game, and right now I'm doing a vanilla playthrough like this so I can compare it afterwards.

EDIT: Apparently, it DOES matter which delusions you pick through the game, but the hairy part is that some endings require different combinations. If you're interested in 100%ing the game, I highly recommend checking out the aptly named guide you probably saw when you came to read this one.
Lmao, why'd you make this guide, nerd
Man, I just wanted to tell you guys how to do this, but leave a comment if the game tells you how delusion triggers work (probably not, like Steins;Gate).

Glad I could be useful, I hope

Thank you so much, I was so confused about the negative and positive thing and I'm glad I saw this before I did the entire game without seeing those things xD

i have it on ps4 and no, the game didn't say anything or warn me, it just popped up :'D I thought, WTF is this, wtf do I have to do now?! hahaha and then I saw another guide and came to my answer, that this are some "choices" like in other VNs, which trigger scenes, and it depends on what triggers you do for an ending xD I like it, it's cool!

In the full achievement guide it says that during the first run you can pick any combination or don't pick anything at all — but the first ending will be the same anyway. Not sure if it's true though because I still not completed the first run.

Fair point, but if you're like me you probably want to see as much as you can on your first playthru.

Game does tell you this, but only after you finish it once, probably since delusion triggers only affect the ending you get after you finish the common route
