A quick overview of the locations of all the blue butterflies so that you can find them more quickly when running back a few thousand areas to get them all.

Why worry about blue butterflies?

Every blue butterfly you collect opens up a Time Cube bonus on the horde areas every area that ends in 5. Furthermore it grants a 1% boost to the Time Cubes you get for every such area. This stacks, and it lasts forever so you need only collect it once and reap the benefits every single time you pass through. Red butterflies are more negligeable for the time being but Blue provide a tangible and permanent bonus to growth which is all important in an incremental game. You can estimate that a full collection and a complete run will grant you nearly a 50% boost even if you have 100% drop rate and 100% bonus cubes. Of course my calculations were limited, but at the end of the day it makes a huge difference over multiple runs. And they are guaranteed requiring no extra Cube spending.

Though the guide only lists Butterflies from 1-500, so far the levels repeat including locations so simply add 500, 1000, 1500... to get to your level set to figure out where you are. Directions refer to if you were running through the levels, not backwards.

Area 1-100, Gauss Prime

4 - Center of the path
19 - Overhang on the left side at the end
29 - By tree on ledge in center of the area
34 - On overhang in the center of the area, I climb up from 33
48 - Way high up on left side ledge
59 - Up on archway on the right side
66 - In nook on the left as the path curves right
77 - On spire in the center of the area
81 - On spire in the center, will have to climb around the whole area to get there
91/92 - On lit archway separating the 2 areas

Area 101-200, The Moon

103 - On pillar at the start of area, likely have to jump from 102 to reach it.
113 - On ledge on island to the left side
130 - On pillar in the center of the area
139 - Top of ledge on left side
142 - Top of pillar in the center
159 - On beam on the left side
170 - Top of ledge on the right side
174 - On overhang on the right side
189 - On spire in the center
192 - On ledge on the right

Area 201-300, Cargo Ship

204 - On top of the containers on the left
220 - On a ledge on the right right after the entrance
230 - On a ledge on the left side
234 - On a storage container on the left side
243 - In a pocket on the left hand side
254 - In a pocket on the left hand side
264 - On some containers on the left side
273 - In a pocket on the left hand side

Area 301-400, Pandora

310 - Ledge to the right side of the Boss
314 - Top of tree on the left side of path
330 - Ledge to the right side of the Boss
340 - Ledge behind the Boss
343 - Ledge on the right side of the path
351 - Ledge right in front of the start
363 - Top of spire in the middle of the area
372 - Top of archway over the path
384 - Top of short archway over the path right at the end
399 - Top of short archway in the center of the area

Area 401-500, Town Planet

410 - Ledge behind the Boss and to the left
420 - Inside building to the left of Boss, have to enter hole high up on the ledge. I climb up from the right side in 417 to make it there.
423 - Top of building on the left side
439 - Top of overhang on the left side
443 - Top of cliff on the right side at the start of the area
460 - On the ledge behind the Boss and to the left
464 - On a ledge on the left side at the end
473 - Ledge on the left side, likely have to cross over climbing from the right side
490 - Ledge right behind the Boss
492 - Building ledge at the start on the left, have to climb up from 491

Also buterfly can be collected in a camera mode. In ghost mode you can trigger camera mode. Can reach hard to get space

You don't need to do this. I just got this blue butterfly (and red butterfly) by just shooting at them from below. Just shoot at the middle windows on the top floor of the building on the left, there's no glass in front.

You have to reset the first time to unlock butterflies.

I now already found, that I have to start at least one new time line.

It's been a while but I think you have to progress to a certain point when the scientist lets you know about butterflies to unlock them.

I cannot find one of them. Do I have to do somethin initialy to be able to start collecting?

71-75 doesn't have a blue butterfly. Blue butterfly happens once every 10 levels, not 5.
