By -RB- Blocka
Here I'll explain in-depth how to do all kinds of moves you can make with the Assault/Raptor class in Space Marine to be more effective than a flying reindeer on Christmas.

TL:DR (Too long, don't read)
Sprint to close short distances quietly.
Dash to move fast without using fuel.
Attack to make minor movements and dodge bullets like you're in the Matrix.
Charge for short bursts of speed mostly off ledges for distance.
Fly to quickly get in and out of combat, and around the map.

More tips and info at the bottom, as well as perk suggestions. Hopefully this helps!
SPRINTING
The Assault/Raptor class has many options and maneuvers abailable to get around. Here I'll be telling you about every component of movement possible, and how they might be used. HERE WE GOOO!~
First, SPRINTING. (default - shift key)
This is only slightly slower than the Tactical's sprint. Useful for moving a short distance, whilst not alarming enemies of your position with the flash and boom sound of the jetpack. Especially when hiding to regain health, or sneaking up on an enemy you have flanked. Walking is also useful for this, as sprinting still makes quiet, yet hearable sound at close range.

Simple. But do not underestimate the element of surprise!
DASHING
Second, DASH HOP+ATTACK (default - tap spacebar key) Then (default - right-click)

Perform this by pressing Spacebar, then Right Click while mid-air.
Dash attacks can be used in a multitude of ways. The most obvious is to move across the map faster than sprinting, while not using Jump Fuel.
The "Dash Attack" is indeed an attack if you get close enough to an enemy using the Spacebar Hop, you may Right Click to Shoulder Charge into your target. Note; when pressing Right Click, you can move in any direction, even backwards, allowing for many many angles of movement and attack.
SLASHING
Third, ATTACK (default - Right Click)
Now you might be thinking, 'Blocka, we all know how to attack!' However, pressing the melee button (especially for swords) allows you not only to move a short distance, but you can move in ANY direction including while: Flying, Standing, Falling or EVEN when Shoulder Charging off a ledge. This allows you to more effectively move while: Finding cover quickly, Dodging bullets and to Attack an enemy before you land on the ground.

Example: Attacking off a ledge to get under the balcony on Manufactorum faster.
CHARGING
Fourth, SHOULDER CHARGE (default - Hold Shift+Right-Click OR Press F)
This attack move is similar to the Tactical's Shoulder Charge. The Shoulder Charge is basically a short range Dash Hop Attack, allowing you to more quickly hit your target, given you are close enough to hit. This can even be performed IMMEDIATELY after a Dash Hop Attack, as sprinting requires no wind-up, you simply press shift and right click together. The Shoulder Charge can also be used to quickly rush off a ledge for a little extra distance, rather than simply Dashing or falling off one. PRO TIP FOR SHOULDER CHARGING (including for tacticals): By pressing F the moment you press the Shift key to sprint, you will move a little faster. This can be used to even greater effect when used on the edge of a ledge to hurl yourself even further than a normal charge.
FLYING
Fifth, FLYING (default - Hold Spacebar)
FInnaly, the most important move of the Assault/Raptor Class. Holding Spacebar to fly costs fuel. Don't worry, you don't actually have to pay for it. But you only have 2 full Charges before it depletes, and you have to wait for it to recharge. You can also hold Spacebar for less than 1 second to perform a Half-Jump, consuming less fuel and flying a shorter distance. Note; When close to the ground while flying you may do a slash attack (Right-Click). This move deals less damage and stagger, however, it is much faster than a Ground Pound attack.

Ground Pounds can be performed when high in the air after a jump.

PRO TIP FOR FLYING; You may choose to fly while doing almost any of the above moves, given you have fuel in reserve.
PERKS
There are 6 main perks you can use.

1. Impenetrable is MUST for Assault/Raptor.
2. Death From Above Synergises well with Flying.
3. Furious charge Synergises well with Dashing and Charging.
4. Air Cooled Thrusters Synergises well with all forms of Assault/Raptor movement.
5. Swordsman's Zeal is great for charging in knowing you're going to die!
6. Killing Blow to make the Hammer super effective against Heavies.

Others aren't worth using, however, feel free to try anything you want! These are just what I've found to be most fun and effective.
TRY ONE AT A TIME!
This concludes my guide on movement for Assault/Raptor in Space Marine.
Remember, learning one thing at a time is best, to learn fast.
If you can master these moves, and use them together in a match to outplay your opponent, you will truly be a terror in the skies.

I may be doing 2 more Guides on Tacticals and Heavies in the future, please comment if you'd like more information on anything! I do have 1600 hours in the game currently!

That's just a blatant glitch that tends to be annoying so I'm not gonna preach it.

A cheeky tip as an experienced raptor / assault player:

Timing your jump after a dash is a huge boon, letting you change directions or adjust your distance / height. If you get experienced enough, dashing off the edge of the bridge map can allow you to jump back on,essentially faking your own death. Alternatively, if you're really good, you can dash off the top layer, and jump onto the lower layer.

Thanks, and happy hunting!
