By Papaimpossible
This guide involves you enabling experimental map sizes as well as 1:5 at the same time. Putting large maps and 1:3 to shame.

Overview
This is guide is going to let you enable Megalomaniac map size for transport fever as well as 1:5 mode.
Note: (enabling megalomaniac and 1:5 will cause long loading times when starting a new game and on cases cause more lag to those that don't have a good enough computer.)
File Editing
in order to enable experimental map sizes you HAVE to go into your game files and editing your settings in your local steam folder.

Pathfinding
  • Open File explorer>This PC>Local Disc (C:)>Program Files (x86)>Steam>userdata>(Your Steam ID)>446800>Local
  • Open the settings text with notepad
  • Hit CTRL+F and type in experimental
  • Replace False to True
  • File>Save

You should be able to launch the game and start a free game and see the megalomaniac setting as well as the 1:5 setting.

It should look like this

Happy Transporting!

i have tried to edit it in the Mac version. But every time after I had changed it from false tot true and I saved it, it goes back to false. The path it stands on the Mac is /Users/your user/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/360089376/1066780/local in the settings.Lua under experimentalMapSizes

I had same problem....solution is you need to switch the game off, then save the file
If you keep the game running it will NOT save it :P

I've done this but whenever I try to load one up it always loads like 1/5th of the way and then crashes. I have a beastly computer that can run Arma 3 at 60fps so I know my hardware isn't the problem. Any help?
