When I drove for the small outfit out to the West Coast the decal was either next to the left door or on it. The extinguisher was right there bolted the seat base, right in front of your eyes. You couldn't miss it unless you were color blind and never saw one before.

On the carhaul trucks I drove there was no decal on the cab or door. I don't know how Anchor Mtr Frt got away with that, and DOT never said a word about it being not there. But it was always on the drivers side bolted to the seat base.

@The Great and Powerful Tavi, Absolutely correct, the 25 years I drove the fire extinguisher decal was always on the left side by the driver door and the extinguisher itself was alway on the floor next to the driver seat, at least in my truck that's how it was setup, nice looking skin Trucker_71.

Very nice paint. Got a garage in Edmonton that this will fit perfectly.

Can you create a T.J. Maxx skin?

@The Great and Powerful Tavi - Thank you for explaining it far better than I did! ;-)

@LoneTrucker33: Wrong. While a sign must be on the truck indicating that there is a fire extinguisher aboard, it must also be located solely where the fire extinguisher is located. This is by law, and done to prevent confusion over exactly where the fire extinguisher is located in the event of an emergency. A truck cab is a big place to be wasting time searching for a fire extinguisher, especially for a police officer or firefighter who may not be familiar with the truck the way the driver is and may need access to that equipment immediately.

And yes, they can destroy the door to get at the fire extinguisher if they have to. That's what insurance is for.

If you put it on both sides then that would be a lie. Can you imagine someone other than the driver looking for a fire extinguisher in an emergency situation... where it's not? When it's on the door that means it's mounted behind or beside the driver's seat, if it's on the cubby hole door, that means that's where it is. The sign doesn't just tell you the truck carries one, it indicates where it is.
