The Vulcan Affair [VCD 1.12][DLC]
By Vic=HKC=
My name is Janitor, Janitor Janitor. And this is my story: cleaning whatever spies leave behind after stopping their arch-nemesis from taking over the world. Today, my job is to make sure that Dr. Hades's lair is as shiny as can be a spy's smile doing the spycrab dance. And I do no ask question. Apart this one: what will happen if I push that big red button near that big gun?

Introduction
New content! New cool DLC! Aaaaand new achievements, new soundtrack and really new tricks!

Well, the only downside of that excitement is that as usual, when you're alone, it's boring to stack these barrels and crates AND WILL THEY STOP FALLING WHEN I TRY TO STACK THEM NEATLY?????

Anyway, drawing these maps are also an hard job, so, I do hope that you'll like them, despite them not being up to scale. Really, I don't have a compass in the eye....

Also, I wanna promote this guide made by Jepp about achievements - it helped me a lot!

Tips
  • The Sharks Pool is one of the ways to destroy items, as there is no incinerator on the map.
  • Also, above the pool, you can see squares. In reality, they're traps from the first floor. Near Dr. Hades's chair, you can see a panel with the table and chairs: click on the buttons on it and a trapdoor will open just under that chair, sending directly everything in the pool.

  • Last but not least, you can clean your dirty mop in the pool, in the same fashion as in Zilla Pagoda.
  • You can activate a beacon by holding left click. However, the orbital beam will only appear if the beacon is outside.

  • Another way to activate the orbital beam is to throw stuff beyond the fences. The beacon is just the way to activate it inside the perimeter. As you understand, it's another way to destroy trash and bodies.

  • Use the two overtures near the lift at the ground level to send stuff on the other side of the building (I think mainly about crates and barrels if you can't put them anymore in the stacking areas of the second floor).
  • Surprisingly, there is no PIDs in this DLC.
  • The first floor is a mess in terms of bullet holes: look well everywhere (on the side of doors and pillars, on the stairs, on panels, etc..)
  • Under the desk, on the left side, a little under the red phone, you can see three red dots. It's not a graphic bug, it's three buttons. Activate them to see the desk give Felux pet food cans. Thanks to Muffinsss for pointing that (and somewhere, confirming that I didn't see wrong).

  • In a similar fashion as in Unearthly Excavation, some holes are hard to spot on the rock. Use a lantern to spot them.
  • You can activate the Death Ray as it's also an achievement. However, this is not a way to destroy trash.

  • There are two confirmed bullet holes where you need to aim to the right of them to repair them. I remember that the second one was on a door and the first one is on the left side of the Death Ray control room.

The detector keeps detecting something in the shark tank but I can't get rid of it. Is there like a bug or something where something can create a stain in the tank? Or the sharks will not detect an item as trash? Cause I'd hate to work on this level just to not get the Lair Care achievement.

Not going to correct the guide, even if I'm glad to have constructive criticism. What I could do is to add it in the tip sections, without revealing too much (though the map reveals the button).

Eh there's no way to tell any of this stuff because you've redacted too much in the name of spoiler prevention which is a very pointless thing to do in a guide. It makes this guide next to worthless.

My thinking is that you mistakenly think most people will follow your guide from start to finish.

What people will actually do is mostly figure everything out on their own and refer to your guide for a few missing pieces here and there.

I ctrl-f'd for every possible term related to the bookshelf in the office, collar etc. and nothing came up except instances of those terms used in the comments below the guide. Because redacted stuff does NOT come up in searches.

In short, by redacting stuff, you've rendered your guide mostly useless.

After you correct it, feel free to comment here so that I can congratulate you on being able to respond intelligently to constructive criticism.

Yes in the collectibles section, for the cat collar.

no mention of the bookshelf in dr. evil's office that leads to a secret note?
Jacowboy Aug 28, 2019 @ 12:18am
Btw, just so people know, you can use the laser with a beacon in the death ray chamber, as long as it's under the opening... good way to get rid of bodies and trash in that section (explosive barrels will make a mess tho). Just throw everything in that corner (below image) with a computer and a body under the dome opening, throw a beacon, profit!

The, mentioned lower, 3 buttons in First Floor office can give you infinite amount of Felux pet food cans , not just 3. You can use it to fill few bins with said items, put them on trapdoors in the main room and presto - a quick boost for "Feed Sharks 500x" achi.

Ty for this I never would have seen/found that harpoon gun until later when I roamed about exploring and not really cleaning.
Although when I orbital bombabrded myself I think it was vaporized as the laser beam then started hitting the body parts and crates and stuff that went out of the border lol. So I think i was next to it when I did it my first run through the level. And I didnt realize the finger was a collectible the first few times (My brain didnt think 'Goldfinger' It was more like oooppss someone lost a finger and I just fed it to the sharks XD.
