By Lames067
At the current time this guide is created, there is no feature that enable you to change your in-game name without changing it on Steam yet. The feature might come in the future, this will be the guide on how to change it temporary, so you'll have to do this everytime you open up the game.

guide is irrelevant now that they removed the ability to change your name using the console and added a setting to change it instead

Browse local files on steam, create new text document, open it, type in cl_nickname="YOUR DESIRED NAME HERE", click save as autoexec.cfg, make sure you select all files, click save, then delete file that says new text document, exit out of everything, start game and your name will be forever changed until you delete that file or change the name in it.

@[6thUS] WiseNinja15 I don't think it would work because you'll need to do it when you're in the server, so a startup launch options wouldn't work.

Hi. If you click on Properties, then Set Launch Options, you can simply input the command there and it will automatically execute it whenever you start your game.
So, how it should look is:
+name "(username)"

Hope that helps.
