AMT Locomotive

AMT is short for Agence métropolitaine de transport, which is the former name of the commuter rail network in Montreal, in the Canadian province of Quebec. Agence métropolitaine de transport is now called Exo, after being taken over by Réseau de transport métropolitain in June 2017.

The rail network comprises six lines, with two terminus stations in the centre of Montreal - Lucien L'Allier and Gare Centrale. These lines are as follows:

Candiac Line (15.9 miles)
Deux-Montagnes Line (18.6 miles)
Mascouche Line (32 miles)
Mont-Saint-Hilaire Line (21.7 miles)
Saint-Jérôme Line (39.0 miles)
Vaudreuil–Hudson Line (31.8 miles)

The line that's been featured with this item is the Candiac Line. The stations on this line are as follows:

The newest line on the network is the Mascouche line, which opened on the 1st of December, 2014. Most of the network is operated by diesel trains, apart from the Deux-Montagnes line. This line is electrified because of the poorly-ventilated Mount Royal Tunnel into Gare Centrale. Altough the Mont-Saint-Hilaire runs into Gare Centrale, services on this line - as well as Via Rail and Amtrak services - run in from the side of the station opposite the tunnel. The Gare Central to Ahuntsic section of the Mascouche line is also electrified.

The motive power on the Exo network consists of ten EMD F59PH and eleven F59PHi diesel locomotives, twenty Bombardier ALP-45DP electro-diesels and fifty-eight Bombardier MR-90 electric multiple units. The MR-90s are only used on the Deux-Montagnes line, while the locomotives are used on the rest of the network. Because of their dual-mode capabilities, the ALP-45DP's are able to run into Gare Central through the Mount Royal Tunnel. The locomotive-hauled passenger car fleet is made up of twenty-two Bombardier bi-level cars, twenty-four Bombardier single-levels and 160 Bombardier multi-level cars.

My Agence métropolitaine de transport DX is based on the livery worn by the ALP-45DP locomotives. The number carried by my reskin is that of a real-life DX - specifically DXC 5431.
