Xbox360 Controller Set Up

Here is a guide to hopefully aid in some confusion about converting your PS1 experience to XB1 controllers.

I have to admit this is my first guide and may look like absolute crap. I have no idea how to make all the pretty guides I have seen here on Steam, but I do know that I was upset when trying to play FFVII on a KB. Hopefully this guide and pictures will help someone quickly set up their controller to equal the same values on their XBC that were on their PSC.

Y = MENU
B = OK
A = CANCEL
X = SWITCH
Start = START
Select = ASSIST
LeftBumper = PAGE UP
RightBumper = PAGE DOWN
LeftJoystick = MOVEMENT(UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT)

THE FOLLOWING ARE PS1CONTROLLER CONFIGS THAT DO NOT WORK ON XB3CONTROLLERS

LeftTrigger = CAMERA
RightTrigger = TARGET
DPad = DPAD
RightJoystick = CAMERA(in the ps version IIRC)

As an FYI, the left analog stick button shows up at Button 9 and the right analog stick button shows up at Button 10. So I assigned those to Camera and Target respectively.

Thank you Oszuu. I understand this isnt ideal, but I am glad that this "Guide" that is over 2 years older may help people. It is out of date, it may not be 100% funtional or, through patches, accurate. I love FFVII and just wanted to spread some love, so thank you for utilizing this guide!

im still playing but ill screen shot my layout and msg you just now.

it was a little tricking riding with my set up i was setting up as if the PS1 had analog stick and only two shoulder buttons so my L2 button is on my left stick and my R2 is on my right stick.

cause everything else is fine game works 100% for me that way.
must also configure FF8 when i finish with FF7 (plan on doing 100% achievments its the fisrt time in 17 years that i got Great Gospel for aries.. i always thought it was some sort of bug cause the man was never at the house to give me the damned thing...steam ver of the game opened my eyes to think.. mm achievments come on marc (thats me) dont be a pussy shot them what you got.

@oujisan2236 yea the Chocobo races were still difficult werent they? Gods dammit thats how I got Knights of the Round for the PS version. I Gold saucered my way to a golden Chocobo but for some reason I couldn't do it in the PC version. Care to share how you did it/ what you did?

i cant do the chocobo race properly i set the layout myself to the exact point had to use the sticks inward button to do the triggers.

but i cant remember target :( since i cant go on my menu cause the stupid area im in doesnt allow me (wining a chocobo race to get out of coral prison desert)

For anyone that wants to use AutoHotkey (Nifty program to remap keys) to make the DPad on the 360 controller work, here's an AutoHotkey script to make it work. http://pastie.org/8549032 The text will have to be saved as .ahk to run it, assuming AutoHotkey is installed.

Somehow AutoHotkey can be used to make the triggers work too using XInput, but I haven't figured out how to make that work yet.

or just map X to right stick i did the same with screenshot so you dont need the keyboard at all
