Stop Thief

Descripción
Stop Thief is an American-originated electronic board game published by Parker Brothers. It was released in 1979, and in 2016 Restoration Games announced that they were bringing back a restored version of the game, using a free smartphone companion app in place of the electronic device. On April 11, 2017, they successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign for the game.


Overview

Players play as detectives tracking an invisible thief. The game is played on a board with two six sided dice, plastic detective figures to represent positions on the board, and a Crime Scanner, a handheld calculator-like electronic and sound effects device





All custom assets in this mod, other than the money, and the table are made by me using bits and pieces of the original artwork.

The money is based of this mod.
And the Table is this one.


DeathKnight has finished version 1.0 of the crime scanner code. Thus, the crime scanner is functional, and you should be able to play a real game now. There will be documentation forthcoming on the functionality of the Crime Scanner. Please, if you think you have found an error in the logic of the unit, let us know here in the comments. There are some basic debug tools you as the users can use to check for errors in the thief movement. these will be documented as well as the functions for use to play a game soon. However, if you are familiar with the original game, this should function basically identical to it and you will have no problems with this version.

Crime Scanner code as been updated to resolve some issues found during play testing.

I will be cleaning up the models, and fixing the missing sound effects, soon. However, the current model, while ugly, does indeed function. Please leave any comments below on bugs or feature requests, and we will see what we can do to address the issues.

Hey there! Starting by pressing ON twice within three seconds just turns the Crime Scanner into a question mark. Could you help me get this working?

Hey, My friend and I found a bug: there is an error in the map programming, Location {4, 63} is listed as 'near' {4, 27} which creates an illegal move for the thief. You appear to have typo'd the location {4, 72}.

I still have my original game I got got Christmas as a kid if you need anything. Crime scanner still works and it's still fun to break out with the family.

Ah the original is a lil different for the repeats. "Your ELECTRONIC CRIME SCANNER can remember the last 10 sound clues. If you forgot the m ost recent sound clue, press 0 and you'll hear it again. Then, if you want to hear the sound clue before that, press 1. For the sound clue before that, press 2, etc." However for sake of simplicity maybe do it like the remake and you press 0 to get the last 5 sounds repeated.

hmm thanks for the feedback. i have not touched this in a long time. i guess maybe i should look it over and see about the issues you describe. as for the last 5 thief moves how was this worked into the game? i do not remember that function. i will have to re read the rule book i guess and see if i can find something talking about it.

ok some testing, At first it worked EXCEPT the host can always see it even as a color, but then white started seeing it all the time. Seems to be something to do with the Turn Base Script.
