I am NOT responsible for your game, I recommend making a backup of your Files, just in case you screw stuff up!
How to:
Step 1. Download Notepad ++[notepad-plus-plus.org] (This is what I used)
Step 2. Rightclick on Stormworks in your steam library > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Step 3. Now that you're in the files, go to Rom > Data > Tiles
Step 4. Search the tile you want, island_15 is the Creative Island.
Step 5. Right click on the XML file, and open with Notepad ++
Step 6. Press Control + F, and type in: "edit_area" and press enter. edit_0 is the Creative Hangar.
Step 7. It should look like this: (I had already changed the numbers.)

Step 8. Edit the grid_size="4" to grid_size="0"
Step 9. Edit the <size x="..." y="..." z="..."/> to <size x="100" y="100" z="200"/> or to the size you wish. The numbers are measured in Metres, 1M = 4 blocks.
So, that's it, start up your game and see if your build area is now bigger. Have fun :)

Hi, there is a hardcoded limit relative to the first spawned block, if i recall correctly ~150 in all directions but I cannot say for certain how much it was. Seems like that's the issue you're running into.

If you have reached that limit in one particular direction but have space left over in the opposite direction, create a new vehicle and then paste your other vehicle into that relative to the starter block of the new vehicle save.

Hope this helps!

Update, the grid size *has* gotten larger, both visually and practically, but not equally. It's definitivly bigger, probably around 140 on the z axis, but smaller than the 250 i originally set it to. Maybe there's a hardcoded boundary?

Hi! I jknow this is a very old guide, but id love to get answer for this. I tried it, and it appeared to work perfectly at first! I edited the dock workbench to be 100 x 100 x 250 blocks, and changed the grid size from 2 to 0, as i figured it was the same as in the hangar (4 to 0). When i entered the workbench, the grid appeared to be the right size visually, but as soon as i tried to build, it stopped me around where the regular grid stops, so i think the grid has visually changed, but the boundaries have not. Any idea on how to fix this or what i may have done incorrectly?

Hi glad you worked it out, fyi if you care it's a variable that's set in the tile editor for default grid sizes, there's presets for a few of the workbenches like starter, creative dock hangar, etc hope that clears it up :)

Just thought I'd ask but what is the grid size change for?

what are the arid map tiles?

I've asked around and we only have maps of what tiles are for Sawyer and for Arid, not for any of the other ones.

Uhh I don't think you can, I'm sure someone's made a list of all the tile numbers and which number represents which island, but I don't know where you could find that sorry, I'll ask around for you though.
