Tea's Tower Survival Guide: a safe perch up high
By 𝔗𝔢𝔞 ❀
This guide covers finding, securing, and bolstering one of the safest places in the game, a ready made tower not far from a horde of Zeds.

For beginners that are struggling and keep getting attacked by zeds while they sleep, this will be very useful. For experts that want a new centre for a base near wood and foraging, this will also satisfy.

Getting there
Start in Rosewood, steal a car, and head West. You want to get to Knox Prison/Rosewood-penitentiary. This is a handy map to keep open:

https://map.projectzomboid.com/#0.31462467195585275,0.28196074047051095,12.3834728448

Plenty of Zeds there, right? Go around to the Western most part of the prison. You will find a tower. This is your new base.

Next, clear it. There are many levels. Go all the way to the top and check the boxes. The three other towers at Fort Knox will also have boxes with some items in them.

Go out on to the walkway on the uppermost level and survey the area.
What's in the free tower? What's nearby?
The tower comes with a chair, boxes, space to set up a tent, and on the levels, plenty of space to build more storage areas.

There are reasons we chose this one though, this is the easiest tower to block off and secure, and is away from the front of the prison. We also have the prison gate there that zombies simply cannot get through. They can't get through the walls either, and there is only one way in. It is also quite safe in that you can't fall off any steps, the railing is safe as well.

Nearby we also have woods and an area for foraging, right there!

You can follow it up and down. In two days you can level foraging twice, without going far from your base.

We don't have water though, so stock up. However, there is a lake not that far away, at the bus station.

There are houses and farms nearby, the police station, Rosewood main street isn't far, and the gated community with good supplies and which can also be turned into a second base is not a great distance:

Facing our side of town is also the bar, which will be important for our next plan:

Luring and clearing the horde
Next, you need four things.

1) A vehicle with a siren. An ambulance, cop car, fossoil truck, anything like that.
2) Whiskey from the bar
3) Lighter
4) Scrap of rag to make molotov cocktail.

Note: this will take an entire day if done right. Eat first.

Once you have gathered all of that, equip the molotov as primary and the lighter as secondary.

Next, go to the front of the prison. Staying in the car, turn on that siren, or the wail, whichever you feel is more effective. Turn the sound right up. Lure the Zeds out of the prison, and down the road. Take your time, don't panic. Let them come.

Drive slow, gather all of the Zeds you can from the near countryside. Head through Rosewood. Like the Pied Piper grab as many as you can.

Take them outside of town:

Keep going and keep circling until they form of a mass:

Give yourself some space, get out of the car and throw a molotov at them. Get back in the car and circle around and around until they all catch on fire.

The fire shouldn't spread far. Once they die, turn off the siren and head to this area to the north and sleep in the car:

Getting a tent and car barricades
Once it is morning, loot these two storage areas. You want a saw, a plank to make sturdy sticks, 4 tent pegs and a tarp.

Create a tent. Put it in the ambulance.

If you couldn't find all you needed there are other storage areas around Rosewood. Check them out.

Return to your tower (feels good to read that doesn't it?).

Go up the top and erect your tent. I put it near the boxes.

Next, it is time to make this place impregnable.

Steal cars from the prison parking lot, and bring them back here. You need 4.

Arrange them like so, or however you wish.

Make sure they are turned off. Walk around and ensure you can't walk to the door. You can only enter the door through the car doors.

Always leave one on an angle such that you could drive off at a moment's notice. Yes, it must have fuel, and it is a good idea to stock this with some survival goodies.

Outside of that you park your actual car that you usually use, with a siren.

Filling with supplies
You have plenty of places to loot to fill this tower with supplies. I would choose houses with garages, food stores, book store, and plenty of fuel and gas cans.

It is also a great idea to steal a generator. Read the guide to generators, and attach the generator to your tower. The generator is in the shaded side.

Also steal all pans and buckets, and fill up with water. Store them inside the tower.

Now something else I did, is loot the US Army radio, and put it right up on the top floor of the tower.

Getting yourself set up will have taken a few days, but once that is done you can enjoy the radio broadcasts of the end. Here are my radio channels:

I also have two shotguns and a large amount of ammo there.

If your character can make boxes, supplies can be organised in boxes on the top or lower levels. If you don't like containers you can just throw the supplies about, you have the space, you have levels.
Foraging is right there
A note on foraging. You are very close to the woods and foragable areas. Improve that skills.

The reason we stock up on supplies is that you can only forage some parts of the year.

With good planning, you should be fine for years.

There, so far, haven't been many Zeds in that wood and it faces the completely forested part of the map, but be careful when foraging.
Adjusting lighting
At the front of your wonderful tower, you have two lights. You can adjust these with different bulbs.

I recommend it, as it can give your tower a lighter or more serious feel.

Settling into your nest
There you have it, you are safe, for now.

Time to sit back with a nice book and 10 kilos of honey, and listen to the world end.

It can get pretty dark out here, but you are safe, and can sleep in comfort. It can get pretty dark out here though...

Improving the Tower (new section)
Of course the area around the watchtower can be improved. Your own fences can be added, and you have the extremely sturdy fence already.

What some may not know, is that you can farm in some rather odd places.

Welcome to my upper tower garden. Now with drainage through the grates, and water collected below for the plants.

Yes, this tower has plenty of space, and once the bottom level is secure you can use it however you wish. I also have a water collection house, complete with sinks connected to water barrels (not sure why I have many sinks, but it is what it is). The tower is sturdy and secure. Take anything from other parts of town and bring it here. That can include sacks of soil, sinks, garbage bags to make barrels, pot plants, even nice large beds and paintings. It's not a tower, it's a lifestyle.

Now, heading into winter.

Have fun, don't get bitten.

New build, and the tower is far more dangerous with many more zombies around it. Be careful, and ensure you clear it, and have different ways to escape. You don't want to be stuck with them coming up the stairs. :zombieGib::zombieGib::zombieGib::Blue_Tower:

Thanks for the favorites. I made an even more secure base not far from this spot, but for those having trouble starting I recommend this.
