but never made that public, as it was unfinished. Instead wanted to return to work on this, Star Trek, and rework some mechanics i learned while working on the other thing - like for example making planets actual capturable "units", instead of pieces of different terrain, as it is now. Or wormholes. I wanted to add the second Federation faction and Dominion faction - i had some nice ideas, how to make them special, and even most of the sprite work prepared for that. But did not get to work on it any further since then, unfortunately.
IIRC the factions had preset starting positions on the map, so what factions you would play depended on starting point you would choose. I think on the big map you could choose Federation, Klingons, Romulans and Cardassian this way, and then there was smaller testing map with Feds, Borg and Romulans?
To be fair, i was not working on that for some quite time, so details are bit hazy right now.
for example: Pirates, Empire, Rebels, Mon Calamari, Hutts and so on.
