Defeated in a duel with Albus Dumbledore in 1945, Dumbledore was awarded the Order of Merlin, first class. The rest of his life he spent imprisoned in his own prison Nurmengard, which he built for his ideological enemies. Killed by Voldemort in the spring of 1998.
