SYSTEMATICS
Title of the Lore-Piece; which map; small description, where to find or how to get it.
Additional info in brackets may add info, i.e. in which place I found it, when there is more than one.
An Asterix (*) before marks lore, which I haven't found yet, but is supposed to be somewhere.

WORK-IN-PROGRESS ?
This guide is including the content of the Forgotten Gods -Expansion (FG). When my other Chars follow the line, some intel about where to find older pieces may become more specified. A few lorepieces still have to be confirmed by myself. I still have to get a closer look on the section Survivors - Port Valbury. But you should find so far every lorepiece in the game in this guide.

TRIBUTE
On my search for the lore I put a second eye on the "Guide to Notes" by Qarnij (Acts 1-3) - thanks to him. Otherwise I'ld have missed some notes. On the other hand I found some, he missed.

However, I do this guide for my following chars and my own fun.
If someone thinks it's useful, feel comfy.

Achievements

For collecting lore you get the following (Steam-) ACHIEVEMENTS

• Let me gather my notes (5 lorepieces)
  
• Notes Collector (20 lorepieces)
  
• Lorekeeper (50 lorepieces)
  
• Loremaster (70 lorepieces)

and with the Forgotten Gods (FG) expansion

• Korvan Loremaster (85 lorepieces).

Well, there are a lot of Achievements in the game, for mastering things in different difficulties or playing hardcore (without diing), even one for winning the game in ultimate hardcore.

Thinking about I enlist here without the lorepieces coming with the expansion already more than 150 lorepieces, this seems even more ridiculous than just the pure existance of this ultimate hardcore achievement. I think no one can miss the lore-related Achievements without malice aforethought.


JUST A SUGGESTION

I would suggest to implement more Achievments for the collecting of lorepieces:
Scholar of Burrwich Prison (all lorepieces you can get in the original game in normal)
Scholar of the Resistance (all lorepieces you can get in the original game and AoM in normal)
Scholar of Korvak (all lorepieces you could get before and in the new expansion on normal)
I would take out the lorepieces you get only on higher difficulties, because I think lorehunters and ultimate-challengers are two completely different types of gamers.

X If you choose the Faction Kymon's Chosen instead of the Order of Death's Sigil you just get the lore connected to this faction and vice versa.
X You're not able to choose Kymon's Chosen, if you're yourself a Necromancer. They really don't want to cooperate with you then.
X There exist lorepieces, which can only be collected, when playing the game on difficulty ULTIMATE. I suppose, I will add them later without own experience, because I do not think, I will like to play it on this difficulty. I prefer it easy, well, NORMAL.

X Comment: Most of these Lorepieces are usually connected to Act 1, which ends with the defeat of Warden Krieg and the construction of the bridge to the NW. So crashing of the bookshelves to get lore was always connected to "Devils Crossing to Burrwich", but according to my observations it is obviously possible to get them by crashing bookshelves on later maps, too. I take my finding of Origin of the Slith - Page 2 on the map Infested Farms as an evidence for this. Actually I found these lorepieces for crashing the bookshelves up to Darkvale Gates by now.
X Comment 2: Some sources enlist two more lorepieces called Abby's Note and Nora's Note (compare: https://grimdawn.fandom.com/wiki/Notes ). Well, I've never found a trace of them. There is a suggestion made in the web, that you can find the data for these lorepieces in the files, but they actually never dropped ingame. I take this suggestion for credible.

Can confirm SURVIVORS - MALMOUTH; Katrine's note to Alice can be obtained only in Ultimate difficulty once you free Katrine in Port Valbury first. After you free her go into the Fleshworks and you will find her corpse near Fleshweaver Krieg area on the left side entrance.

I am still unable to find Notice of Curfew in Port Valbury not sure where to look if anyone can confirm where to find it please do, thanks.

The Call of Blood is listed in ENEMY INSIGHT. As far as I can tell, it dropps from a cultist like probably all three of Avalline's Notes, too.

You're probably right about that, but I'm almost certain I've found the call of blood from a bookshelf, as well as one other, I think it was a particular note.

To the best of my knowledge all pieces of lore you could get by crashing bookshelves is connected to the journal, section: SURVIVORS - BURRWICH. I think, i have all of those pieces. To get them I looked a lot in the Deprived Santuary and did the bounty for Devils Crossing on the way. But thank you for sharing your concerns.

You can also destroy bookshelves which will drop random pieces of lore, not sure how it generates the ones you've missed though. A good spot to spawn missing lore I find is in the darkvale gate, there's a spot with 4 bookshelves lined up on the same wall, and you're almost guaranteed at least one missing lore page upon destroying them.
