Is the diamond camo really worth it?

A simple discussion about the RB6 diamond camo

Lets talk about in-game loot

Rainbow Six Siege, like every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game since 2010, has in-game loot that requires real world money to obtain, but fortunately, Rainbow's look ISN'T pay to win. I mean yes, you have to either grind or save up enough money to obtain operators, but every operator is good in their own way, so it doesn't count. Like a generic iOS game for iPhone, theres two different currencies, Renown and R6 Credits, and one you have to pay to get, this being R6 Credits. However, since the game doesn't just want someone paying for a diamond camo, this can only be unlocked by Renown, a non-purchasable currency in RB6.

If I can't BUY the skin, how else does a potato like me get it?

ok ok ok, now, this is where I talk to you about getting the actual skin, first of all, it cost a heckin lot! Like it's gonna tear you apart when you're so close to getting it but you can't get them wins. now kiddos, this is where friendly maths comes in, if you can't follow me, just read this, a lot of grinding.

Ok, assuming if you're reading this you understand basic maths, good, so here I go;
the Diamon Camo is 100,000 (90,000 with 3 year pass) renown, yeah, thats a lot. There are 2 ways to getting renown, the second one is just running a booster and leaching off of your friends booster.

without a booster

Ok, if you're not running with a booster.... May the odds be in your favour, firstly a game you WIN gives you 250-300 renown so lets say its 275 average a game, so thats 100,000 / 275 = 363.63 (327 with 3 year pass) games WON, buuuuut, if you lose a game its only about 150-200 renown, so 175 average, I mean, I wouldn't know, haven't lost a game since level 4... so thats 100,000 / 175 = 571.42 (514.28 with 3 year pass) games lost to have enough renown to buy it.
thats quite a bit, aye? If you still don't understand it, its an average of 467.52 (420.64 with 3 year pass) games played before you get that sweet camo.

RANKED without a booster

You receive around 300-400 per win, 100,000 / 350 = 285.71 (257.14 with 3 year pass)
and about 250 per loss, 100,000 / 250 =400 (360 with 3 year pass)
Average of 308.57 games played (308.57with 3 year pass)

with a booster

Now you know the struggle of no renown booster, heres the naths for a renown booster;
A booster gives the user who activated it a 100% renwon increase, so just do [renown x 2], and everyone else on their team a 10% increase, with this being said, per win, you get 500-600 renown, thats 550 average, 100,000 / 550 = 181.81 (163.63 with 3 year pass) games won to obtain the right renown. You get about 300-400 per loss, 350 average, 100,000 / 350 = 285.71 (257.14 with 3 year pass) games lost before getting the correct renown, thats still an average of 233.76 games (210.38 with 3 year pass)

RANKED with a booster

An average of 600-800 per win, so thats 100,000/700=142.85 (128.57 with 3 year pass) games won
and around 500 per loss, 100,000 / 500 = 200 (180 with 3 year pass) games lost
Average of 171.42 games played (154.28 with 3 year pass)

leaching off a friend with a booster

It's only a 10% increase, so I'm going to skip everything and just go straight to the maths;
100,000 / 302.5 = 330.57 (297.52 with 3 year pass) won games
100,000 / 192.5 = 519.48 (467.53 with 3 year pass) lost games
Average of 425.02 games played (382.52 with 3 year pass)

RANKED leaching off a friend with a booster

Close to 330-440 per win, 100,000 / 385 = 259.74 (233.76 with 3 year pass) won games
with close to 275 per loss, 100,000 / 275 = 363.63 (327.27 with 3 year pass) games lost
Average of 311.68 games played (280.51 with 3 year pass)

Now lets talk about if its actually worth it

Yes and no, I see in-game skins as a bragging right and social status, buuuut, next to no one uses the diamond camo because of how hard you need to grind to obtain it, I got it because I want to be unique, on most of my guns I run the diamond camo and little cute bat weapon charm. But then theres also the GOLD skin, OWO, no one knows about it, but its too easy to get, its for potatoes. All you need to do is go into RB6 DLC's, and buy the safari pack for $5, BOOM, its all yours, and it also looks sick asf, but because you unlock it by paying, it doesn't feel as satisfying having it.

well, its not that bad, personally I grinded for it at levle 80, now level 95. But I ran with the booster so I got it easier

I love the skin, I use it a fair bit, I mostly have it with my elite skins, but if I use other skins like the sick asf Vigil and Pusle halloween skins, I'd use their appointed weapon skins as well

owning the gold with the animal skins and the other dlc skins emerald and ruby is satisfaying enough and you get to pick to what you want based on how you feel. but to be honest skins make you look good, so you look good you feel good, you feel good you do good, and lastly you do good you win so its basically SKIN=SKILL
well to me thats how i feel whenever i play with the skins :P
