Zombie Genociding
By BewitchedRiddle
Originally Dead Rising 1 had an achievement known as -Zombie Genocider-. In order to receive said achievement, you had to kill 53,594 zombies which was the population of Williamette, Colorado. Capcom decided to step it up a notch in the sequel. Kill 72,000 zombies in one sitting.

Introduction
One sitting? What do you mean "one sitting"? I mean that in one playthrough of the game, you need to kill 72,000 zombies. It does not add up cumulatively and must be done in one sitting. In Left 4 Dead, it was cumulative. Now, you can't restart and say that your new smaller number counts toward the achievement. Because it doesn't. Absolutely not. So now you might be wondering, "How in the world am I going to get to 72,000 kills in one sitting?" The answer is simple:

A car.
A New Set of Wheels
(Skip this section if you already know there are vehicles. Go straight ahead to the next one.)

"A car? There are cars in this game?!" you might ask. Why yes, good sir (or ma'am) there are cars in this game. You don't think that you drove around that motorbike in the beginning for nothing or that you can drive that motorbike around for just the pure cosmetic fact that Chuck is an ex-motocross superstar? No, there are vehicles in this game. And each one is a very good tool in killing zombies! Let's go over the different vehicles in the game, shall we?

- Motorbike: You learn its controls at the beginning of the game. You also can drive around the Strips and the Park after defeating Leon (Meet the Contestants lead) in a bike. You receive the Bike Key from him after he kills Carlos. (May his soul rest wherever it may lie now.) Once you kill him, you gain access to his bike's Maintenance Bay. So you'll have two bikes just in case you want someone to jump in. The bay is found near the Silver Strip's entrance to the Yucatan. The other is found on the Platinum Strip in front of the entrance to the Arena. Refer to your map if you really don't know where any of this is. (Press TAB to look at your map.)

- Utility Cart: Basically, this will be your first time in a slower vehicle. It's four-wheeled and wider than that of the Motorbike. You can find this right away on Fortune Park right in front of the Fortune City Hotel. Just look to your right as you exit the hotel. You should see it. There are also an abundance of the carts in the Underground (You gain access to the Underground in Case 2.)

- Sports Car: This one will cost you. $500,000 if I'm correct. It's wider than the cart and moves as fast the bike. So you can expect to slam into the walls a couple times due to it's wider size. You can find its key at the local pawnshop in the Royal Flush Plaza. Pay the Looter the 500,000 and obtain your key. You can now drive the Sports Car in the Royal Flush Plaza and the Slot Ranch Casino.

- Chopper: You can buy this baby's key in the Palisades Mall and it costs the same as the car. You'll find the Chopper in the Yucatan. It shouldn't be hard to miss. It has a stand sticking up amongst the different slot machines.

- SUV: This is what you want. This is the largest vehicle in the entire game. As such, it mows over zombies in an instant. You can find its key at the Silver Strip's pawnshop and right across from the pawnshop should be the Shamrock Casino where the SUV is found. However, with great power comes a great price. It costs $2,000,000.

Now, how will you get 2 million dollars to pay for this beauty of a Hummer? Let me tell you how:

Gambling. You're in Fortune City! There's money EVERYWHERE! But there's one very good way of collecting money.
Preparation for Genociding
The first thing to genociding is running over zombies, but to get the wheels to do that, you need money. Money is everywhere in Fortune City, but there is one technique I found to be very useful in gaining at least $500,000 dollars in less than 10 minutes is by playing slots!*

*To gain money this quick takes a lot of luck and time. Mostly luck...actually all of it is luck. You can spend 2 hours doing the method and still come up with -$50,000.

Now, everyone should know the Slot Ranch Casino, and it has its name for a reason. In it is a giant slot machine. On this giant slot machine are two buttons, one button is to bet only a measly $100 and the other to risk a pile of $1,000. I'm sure you all know how slot machines work. You need to get three of one thing in a row. Three "BAR"s gives you a x1 mulitplier. Three "double BAR"s gives you a x2 multiplier...It's better if I just put it in a chart.

BAR = x1
double BAR = x2
triple BAR = x5
cherries = x10
7's = x25
Gems = x50
$'s = x100

Huh...I swore I made a chart out of this...oh well. You get the picture. Chances are you'll never get a 100 multiplier right off the bat. But you can when you use three magazines: Gambling 1, Gambling 2, and Gambling 3.

- Gambling 1 is found in the Ragazines store in the Royal Flush Plaza on the second floor.
- Gambling 2 is found in the Stan's Large Print Books and Magazines on the second floor of the Palisades. It has a large red sign saying Stan's Large Print Books and Magazines.

-Gambling 3 is found in the Shamrock Casino on the Silver Strip. It's on the back counter.

Now that you know where all the magazines are, collect them up and go gambling at the slot ranch! Remember: Big Slot Machine. It should be located on the left wall to the entrance of the Food Court. Now kill time on that until you have your 2 million dollars to buy the SUV key at the Tinkerbox pawnshop on the Silver Strip. It should take a couple hours so don't worry if you don't get it right away.

If you have purchased the SUV Key, you can now drive the SUV! Congratulations! But you should already be at least halfway into the first day, so save your game and restart the story. Your key will be saved for the main part of this crash course.
Blood on the Windshield
You have the SUV. It's time to get to driving, but first, grab the Driving magazine from Benny Jack's BBQ Shack in the Americana. It's on the table with the soft drink machine. Grab that and head out to the Shamrock Casino and hop into the SUV and start killing zombies. Start right after you leave the Safe House and have grabbed the magazine.

There are 72 hours in three days. Your job is to kill 72,000 zombies. If you can do math, that's 1,000 zombies per hour...in game time. Just remember to aim for the giant groups of zombies, and if you must, kill Leon.

Most people begin to follow a path to kill. I start from the beginning in the Shamrock and drive left and straight down the Silver Strip. I run over to the Fortune City entrance to kill as many gathered zombies there and then make my way over to the Fortune City Hotel entrance. I then work down to the Platinum Strip and make several loops around the globe in the center of the Arena entrance. I follow up with wiping out the zombies in front of the entrance and turn and begin to head back, following the larger groups of zombies; however, when I reach the Americana. I take a left down the path to the Safe House. Unfortunately, it's closed at the moment, but there is a nice group of zombies to kill. I back up and follow the larger groups of zombies all the way back to the Yucatan. I always take a right after I reach the Yucatan, so I don't miss the groups of zombies hiding near the closed off Underground entrance. Then I turn around and begin to follow the larger groups of respawning zombies. And I continue until the SUV dies of abuse. Then I repeat this process. It's only time consuming and not incredibly hard. At least it's not asking you to hold out for 7 Days...
Conclusion
In the end, you should actually have enough time to kill 74,000 zombies. The game starts off with 74 hours and if you start immediately, you should be able to get around 73,000 in the end. Unfortunately, there may be no time at all to give Katey the Zombrex she needs, find the leads that prove you innocent, and save all the survivors you can, but hey, you can say you killed 72,000 zombies in three days and call yourself a Zombie Genocide Master! :D

Anyways, have fun driving and good luck on your achievement hunting or zombie killing however you want to see it.

Good luck! ;)

There is several different ways to obtain 2 million in-game. The slot machine method is the one that I've found to be infamous with most people that have achieved this achievement.

For people wanting quick money, having all the Gambling magazines on them and then attempting the 'Ante Up mission (the poker missions) can net them an easy 1 million.

That would 1,400,000 dollars to be paid.
0.3 x 2,000,000 is 600,000.

Well, I think it makes the 2 Million become 1,500,000 or something. What's 30% of 2 Million?
