Introduction
So, maybe unnessesary if you are on a higher NG, but the Burnt Ivory King fight - also known as 'the Chaos Battle', is one where the boss is aidded by a horde of minions. Heck, you even need to beat atleast 8 Charred Knights to even make him appear. How lame is that?

Description: Mugshot of lame host that keeps summoning help because he can't do it alone.
Adjusting the difficulty
This fight's difficulty can be adjusted to your own wishes OUTSIDE of NG cycle. Since the difficulty of this battle revolves around the amount of spawnpoints where the Charred Knights come from, that are open/closed.

Depending on how bad you want to get swarmed by the Charred Knights that the King keeps around, I suggest you find their clean and pristine dopplegangers: the Loyce Knights. Not only do they help you fight the Charred Knights, they also sacrifice themselves to seal the gates from which the Charred Knights spawn after killing an X amount of Charred Knights.

While you get 1 by just accepting Alsana's request to help her freeze over hell defeat the king in the depth of Chaos, there are 3 more that you can find now that the blizzard has stopped and opened up new places in Elyum Loyce.

Another thing that makes the fight obviously easier, are summons. Preferably good quality human summons. But if you bother to atleast fetch 2 Loyce Knights from Elyum Loyce, you can also summon 2 NPC meatbags: Lucatiel and Twiggy Shai. Obviously the latter being the better one since he uses a Greatbow to great effect where Lucatiel just loafs around in comparisson.
Prepairing for the Raid - Weapons and Spells
Now, at NG+7, you obviously want to come well prepared. So best to use what works best and adjust your stats accordingly with a Soul Vessel at the hag in Things Betwixed. But nothing beats being overlevelled AF and having every stat that matters at atleast 40 or 50.

Other than that, I will advice on weapons and spells that help you get through the Charred Knights quickly because the King is rather static and easy to solo after all the portals have been sealed by the Loyce Knights.

Weapons:
While everything works and is usuable in this game, there are still weapons that might be better than others, so here is my list of suggestions
  • Red Iron Twinblade
  • Santier's Spear

Why just 2 and why these?
  • Because at NG+7 you are just completely tired of everything this game has to offer and just want to cheese the f out of this tedious fight.
  • The moveset allows you to attack multiple targets in rapid succession when 2handing. On top of that, they have the highest Poise Damage amonst weapons with that moveset. So if you equip Stone Ring (and very maybe another person with the same weapon and ring equiped) you can stunlock cheese the tar out of the Charred Knights with good DPS to boot! Provided you are attacking the same target of course.
The only things that the Santier's Spear has over the Red Iron Twinblade is that Santier's Spear has better range and indestructability. It also has 5 more Poise Damage but that goes unnoticed in a cheesegrinder fest anyways.

Damage-wise, the Red Iron Twinblade outshines Santier's Spear, especially when infused.

Spells

Offensive spells
  • None.

Why? Because the DLC areas have notoriously high elemental defenses in case you didn't notice yet. You are WAY better off using weapon buffs, especially of the spell variety, if you want to do actually damage. And only these 2 spell buffs are recommended due to them having the highest AR, especially when cast on a weapon that has the same innate element as the spell buff or is infused with the same element as the weapon buff.:
  • Crystal Magic Weapon
  • Resonant Weapon

Buffs
  • Denial
Since buffs don't stack unless it is cast by someone else, slow/low HP regen and attack/defense buffs are outclassed heavily in an enviorment that is bound to 1-shot you, or kill you in some lame combo by the Charred Knight gank squad.

Debuffs
  • Profound Still
The effect of this spell on the most dangerous Charred Knight, the pyro, is truly 'Profound' as it turns it into the comedy version of One Punch Man for as long as it lasts. Sadly, it does not seem to affect the King at all.

Healing Spells
  • When Solo: Great Heal Excerpt (1300HP)
  • When Co-Op: Great Heal (1100HP but small range) or Soothing Sunlight (1000HP but huge range)
Final Word(s)
Now that you have everything that matters and are in NG+7, I'll assume you know about what rings benefit your loadout the most, I'll not be spending time on recommending anything. Same with armor: just go for fashion or the effect a piece of armor has, because even at max SL, you can be 1-shot by the King (2-shot 90% of the time at max sl and highly depending on what you have equiped).

So now that you are either ready to gank the gankers or dessent into madness, I wish you, the reader, good luck in the battle ahead!

Description: A person that used either Cheat Engine or Photoshop for this picture and his own satisfaction. It also happens to be the thumbnail of a video on youtube about a bug that allows this to happen. Not sure if this has been patched in SotFS tho. I do know the King can sometimes get stuck in the ice.... but not sure about the conditions to make that happen

Great guide, all that's left for is to actually butcher the king without additional 3 Loyce Knights!
