Description
(For the Moment I do not recommend playing on campaign, but customs battles should work.)

This is a mod project that aims to bring a setting based in the 7th century to Thrones of Britannia.

At the moment the only things that are complete is the general placement of factions on the map and also the allocation of "religions" to regions on the map.


I aim to add some more features, if possible to this mod, these are:

- Add unique units to each of the cultural groups, each cultural group will have bonuses and disadvantages to their fighting styles, balancing this may be difficult. Possibly less horse units, instead making cavalry mainly a skirmishing unit as appropriate for the time.

Britons: Done

Anglo-Saxons: Done

Picts: In Progress

- Add 12 playable factions, 4 for each cultural group.

- Bring in historical characters into the game, and edit the general models to fit an earlier period.

- Make the substitute factions fully intergrated into their culture. (Factions like Pengwern and Gododdin)

- Remove reference to events of the base game, and possible replace them with period apporiate events.

There are many other things to change, but this is all I can think of for the moment.


I am unsure whether I can achieve this on my own as I am not a hugely experienced modder, I only made unit mods before this and have only just started diving into the startpos.

Any help from other modders would be greatly appreciated. Help in general is needed, whether it be ideas, art or anything. Feel free to leave a comment.


At the moment I will attempt to make a start on the units, you can find discussions on each of the cultures units. I will start with the Britons.

@Aristoxenus this mod is dead. I was hoping someone would update this mod, seems highly unlikely though. I think I'm going to unsubscribe since it's dead, what a shame.

I just realized the characters and years are unchanged, like: alfred, year 878 AD

I hope @Mr Steal your Tech comes back to work on this Mod. I hope he makes the shields a little more colorful, changes the year, changes the names of Leaders, Maybe change the viking invaders to Angles,Saxons and Jutes invaders. I think this come become one of my favorite Mods for Thrones of Britannia.

I tried this as well, was playing Mierce, the campaign map runs pretty smooth. How did he disable clouds on the campaign map? turn times are fast as well, faster than in Vanilla.
