How To Enable Cheats

Find and go to your game folder.
E.g. "C:\[your game directory]\Steam\steamapps\common\swkotor"
Open up swkotor.ini, go under [Game Options] then add "EnableCheats=1" without quotation marks.



When in game press the tilde key (` or ~) and type in codes you want to use. Press enter.

If you are having trouble opening the console, it is because we use keyboards with different layouts in different countries. Educate yourself from here.

The giveparts command doesn't seem to work

Yeah you really need to be careful with some of the cheats. Especially ones that add things you aren't supposed to have at the point of story you are in. For example, levelling up to max and using all your skill points and such before getting to Dantooine and receiving the Jedi training there breaks the game. Pretty sure adding a Lightsaber before that point also breaks it because the game requires you to make one there and it thinks you already have one and so won't let you make it.

After you save that and open the game to try again let me know if it works for you.

Hi evanswaylon1. I'd like you to do something for me before we continue. Follow these steps please and let me know if it's resolved. 1) Delete the swkotor.ini file. 2) start the game and if you have not created a character then do so then save and quit the first chance you can. 3) open the game again and go to options, change something in there then save that(I can't remember if you have to do that as you do with some games) and exit. Close the game once more. 4) Doing the previous step should have generated a NEW swkotor.ini file. THIS one should have everything in it and is able to be edited without risk of anything going screwy. 5) make SURE that you type the EnableCheats=1 line manually and do NOT copy and paste it from elsewhere. Copy/pasting tends to leave spaces and can create format errors. Also be sure that you do not leave in the " from the instructions. No spaces before or after. Make sure everything looks the same as the picture in the guide.

hi, when i press the `~ key it nothing happens and i cant put in codes because of that

Looked it up and apparently that particular code has never worked and isn't even listed in the game's code. If you're on Taris then just buy parts at the droid shop and use T3-M4 to do the repairs as his repair skills should be much higher than yours at that point in the game so he uses less parts.

The giveparts code, is it giving you an error message or just acting like the code worked but not giving you anything?

For example of codes that don't work, I personally never got the dancemalakdance code to work for me. Though that one could be situational and have a certain process to it that is never listed in these guides.
