Neon Dawn

Adventures in the post-nuclear limelight

Neon Dawn is a character building, open-world, post-apocalyptic adventure board game for 1-5 players. It is set in the waste, a post-nuclear land steeped in radiation and brimming with danger, adventure, and treasure to be found. The Great War happened long enough ago that no one alive remembers what the world used to be like. Those that still cling to life work hard to simply survive, overcoming challenges within the waste every day.

Sounds bleak and dreary, but you have no issues with your current situation. You're naturally suited to this lifestyle and have already begun to make a name for yourself. However, local celebrity status is just the beginning. Your goal is to become the most famous wasteland adventurer, ensuring your name will forever be enshrined in wasteland legend!

Neon Dawn is an adventure game with a modular map, 400 adventure encounters, and fully customizable celebrity adventurers! Players can explore the world (adding additional map tiles to the map), salvage materials, build reputation with settlements, trade, craft special items, kill raiders and slavers, build buildings (to customize settlements) and complete missions.

Neon Dawn was designed to be easy to learn, yet still provide deep game play and a thematic story experience. Due to the variance in the cards, map tiles and dice rolls, each play through of Neon Dawn will provide a unique story experience specifically for the players at the table. No two stories will be alike! (Well, at least it's really, really, really, really unlikely.)

@Symphonique It's definitely something I would consider doing! Thank you for the feedback and encouragement. :)

It would be super awesome if you could turn this into a DLC for Tabletop Sim once you're all done making the game. o: The quality is amazing and would definitely pay for it, especially if it had a custom background and everything!

Yeah, that's what I've heard. I'm trying out your new rules, I'll report back with any thoughts. Good luck in it all, regardless I'll be playing for a bit and I'll try to get a TTS group together to play a 5 player game.

@Truck Sideiron Thank you for the support! I made some mistakes with the KS launch, and decided it was best to cancel this first launch and give it a second try using the experience I've picked up this first time. I have also reached out to the community over at BGG for advice and feedback on the campaign.

The relaunch will be MUCH better, and I am certain we will make Neon Dawn happen! :)

If you'd like to be notified of the relaunch progress and date, once it has been set, you can sign up for the Caldwell Games mailing list at

Everyone on the mailing list is automatically entered for chance to win a Neon Dawn Preview Copy (ready to play right now!) once the relaunch has successfully funded! :)

So far this is great. Played a couple two player games and am stoked about the game. Really enjoy the art, theme, and the mechanics. I'll be backing the kickstarter soon. And I'll definately be trying to get some of my groups playing it on TTS asap

So... Neon Dawn is 95% complete, but I have no issue making refinements and rule tweaks (that are tested and consistently increase player enjoyment) all the way up to when I send the final print files to the factory. That said, I've been testing some tweaks that so far show a lot of promise in streamlining the pace, reducing the total amount of rolling, and I think will cut off maybe 10-15 minutes per player.

Anyone interested in the tweaks currently in testing? :)
