Scrap Banking & Weapon Selling Video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAtMp0jD0ds

This video teaches you the basics of how to scrap bank and sell weapons for profit.
However, I got some more advanced methods since then. If you get this video to 100,000, I will teach you some new secrets!
Scrap, reclaimed, refined, and price value
TF2 has a crafting system where you can combine metal to make new weapons, hats, or misc items. You can make a scrap metal by combing any two weapons from the same class.
To make a reclaimed metal, you need to combine three scrap metals.
Lastly, to make a refined metal you need to combine three reclaimed metals.

If you ever went to a trading site and saw numbers like 0.01, 0.05, 0.11, 0.22, 0.33, 0.77, 1.00, etc and were confused by what they meant...I'll help you out.

0.01 = 1 junky crate(some crates are so worthless that a single weapon can get you many)
0.05 = 1 craftable weapon
0.11 = 1 scrap metal
0.22 = 2 scrap metal
0.33 = 1 reclaimed metal/3 scrap metal
0.77 = 2 reclaimed metal + 1 scrap/7 scrap
1.00 = 1 refined metal/3 reclaimed metal/9 scrap

It's simple math. Since it takes 9 scrap to make a refined, you would just take 1/9 which gives you 0.11111~ The extra numbers are needed. If you just used 0.11 and multiplied by 9, it would come out to 0.99. If you had 180 scraps and used 0.11, you would have 19 refined + 8 scraps which would be wrong! Use 0.11111 and you have 19.9998 which rounds to 20 ref
Don't believe me? Count for yourself. Each row has 9 dashes, takes 9 scraps to make a ref.
There's 20x9 rows, which is 180.

What's scrap banking
TF2 has a craft system where you can use any two craftable weapons from the same class to make a scrap. If you want scrap and you have weapons from different classes, then you can not make a scrap. Instead you will have to trade for a scrap with your two craftable weapons.
How to profit
When a trader needs a scrap they will trade you two craftable weapons. To profit, sell those weapons for a (scrap/2 craft weapons) each. Why would someone pay that much? Simple, they want the weapon and you are providing a service. Another reason is if their BP is full of weapons they don't use and it just takes up space, especially when they have multiple.

Making profit by scrap banking and reverse banking is NOT EASY, especially with scrap.tf as competition. Will take many many hours, maybe days depending on the effort. However, it's the safest form of trading. The weapons just need to be craftable and have no "gifted" tag.
(I have better luck in trade servers for selling weapons for scrap)
Scrap.tf
http://scrap.tf
This website is great for using any scrap metal you have to get any two craftable weapons.
You can also use this site to take any two craftable weapons and get yourself a scrap. Due to this feature, makes it really hard to make profit.
