Using mods with your Nitrado server
By NorthSeaWitch
Trying to get my mods to work with my Nitrado server turned out to be quite a hassle, with endless googling and unanswered questions, so having finally managed to get the mods working with my server, I thought I would write a guide to spare other people from the pain and hassle.

Adding ModID and WorkshopID
First, make certain you have the mods you need downloaded from the workshop and activated in your game!

We have to add both modID and workshopID

Go to your nitrado server settings and click on the "Config Files" on the left hand menu.

You should now be editing the servertest.ini config file.
Go down until you find a line that says "Mod=" (Should be line 18 if unedited)
Add the ModID of the mod you want to play.

A lot of modders add the ModID to the store page, but if you cannot find it there, you can go to the games workshop folder "Program Files (x86)\Steam Games\steamapps\workshop\content\108600" and locate the mod.info file for the particular mod you want to add, and open with a text program (notepad, notepad++ etc.)

If you want to add additional mods use a semicolon ; to seperate the mods. (No space before or after!) I know nitrado says you should use a comma, but I have had no success with that

Example:
Workshop ID
Now we have to add the workshopID

Go down until you find a line called "WorkshopItems=" (Line 54 if unedited)
Most mod creators write their WorkshopID on their workshop page, but if not have a look at the url

The number at the end is the workshopID. Add that after WorkshopItems=
Again, separate additional mods with a semicolon; and stay clear of the space bar.

Example:
Save, Boot, Enjoy
When you have finished adding all your mods, click "Save Changes" and reboot the server.

Boot up and enjoy.

Nice clear and concise explanations with good detail. You might should add the bit about how to add maps and in what order they should be in.

When i add mods in the files and launch the server its not responding and im unable to join it. To add to that in the "additional mods" and "map" area in general settings only the first mod and map are shown after (to be clear i didnt use it to add them) even if i try to use that menu to add more mods/maps only the first ever saves. Any help? Feels like I've tried everything,

Enjoy a more GUI experienced way to add mods to a external server.

A absolute best cheat to obtain workshopIDs in a less hassle way is to download Mod Manager: Server ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2725216703 )

1. Download all the mods you want.
2. Open up host and create a config, once created backout and open mods.
3. Set up mods with the mod manger: server
4. Return to Host, setup sandbox settings then host ( You may not need to do this, check if written to file on next step)
5. Go to: ( C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Zomboid\Server ) There you will find your server config ini as well the sandboxvars.lua as well spawnregions.lua. you can open them up on notepad or notepad++
6. On webbrowser go to NITRADO file browser ( zomboid > profile > zomboid > Server )
7. Copy paste into Nitrado server ini, sandbox vars, & spawnpoints.
Tidbit: You should not replace everything in the server ini such as your port, you only need to replace three lines to add mods to the server ( line 55 Mods=, line 58 maps=, & line 182 WorkshopItems= )
